Requesting recommendations - I'm in the mood for a nice tower defense game. Desktop, not mobile.
I know nothing of the genre, haven't played much of it beyond the flash game roots 20 years ago.
Anyone have a fun one to try? I lean more on the slow-paced / strategy side of things, rather than quick-twitchy/flashy, generally speaking.

@bluewinds There's a bunch of games in a series called "Gemcraft". The first one or two definitely started out as web games, but they're all on Steam now. One of the better balanced instances of the genre with a fairly grim fantasy story layered on top. Definitely on the slower side (incl. you can pause) but still fairly intense.

@bluewinds I've enjoyed the Adventure Time Balloon popping one. It's nice and silly. (FTP with normal levels of grind if I recall right)
