I haven't played the Sega Game Gear in a long time!
This little handheld was the first one I repaired with a capacitor change many years ago and led me to fixing (mostly!) my other consoles and computers.
I picked up a very cheap Everdrive for this little unit, and now I've been bitten by the Game Gear bug again... I'll have to mod my screen to a new and modern LCD replacement.

@richardtroupe@mastodon.ie It's going to be a sad day when the transistors in these old machines' chips start failing. Replacing a capacitor is one thing. Replacing microscopic transistors is entirely another. It is taking a weirdly long time for that to happen, but it's going to happen sooner or later…
