RE: https://allovertheplace.ca/@DavidGoldfield/116391212279050712 This is one of the reasons I am quite frustrated about Anthropic blocking access to tools like OmenClaw. I've been using OpenClaw for a while to do exactly that. It helped me manage content on websites, which have a user interface that is rather inaccessible, helping me to describe pictures, sort information, and all context-sensitive because it has a lot of memory and context of what I do and what are my needs. Now that OpenClaw is blocked on Anthropic systems, I need to just use weaker models, which are a bit more stupid. It has definitely regressed in accessibility for me. I understand that a lot of people are frustrated with OpenClaw because people are using it for mining bitcoins and doing crypto bullshit, but I have been using it for genuinely helping me to work and overcome accessibility barriers. The fact that it's now regressed,is hopefully temporary until Anthropic gets their systems sorted out or somebody invents a workaround or a new, better product. Sadly, this is the world of AI we are living in.

  • @jakobrosin I thought it was just mine getting stupider. I used to get it to organise files for me and do ffmpeg re-encodes, and run applescripts, control sonos etc etc, and I thought it was just because I'd changed to using an openai API key instead of chatgpt/codex auth, and switched to using GPT5.4nano, but it really isn't very useful anymore.

@jakobrosin @DavidGoldfield I'm actually curious how you were doing that? I thought openClaw was primarily useful for commandline stuff and managing things like email, calendar, etc. ... how were you getting it to play nice with UIs, the claude code crhome extension? As for Anthropic blocking it ... it's a little weird. Me and a bunch of others received an email last week, saying as much as "other harnesses like OpenClaw will now only work with extra usage", which ... is odd if the idea is to outright block it. Probably rohibitively expensive for a lot of openCLaw workflwos but might still work for what you were doing

  • @jakobrosin What is OpenClaw? And why is it blocked?

@jakobrosin @DavidGoldfield I thought they did it because their code got leaked and could be incorporated into OpenClaw
