<p>👨🦯 Heyhoo! I am an accessibility specialist, mainly consulting public and private sector organisations on digital accessibility through my cofounded consultancy Ligipääsuke. I also find myself as a president of Estonian Blind Union. Theres the audio geekery, I definitely prefer fieldrecordings to photos. Good food, thats anything but olives makes my day and if a nearby piano is paired with enough pressure by people, I even may play a few tunes.</p>

My powerbank, an Anker prime 27 k 240 w powerbank, has an app to monitor its charge level and change some settings. Since it exists, I might as well use it. It comes in handy when its charging to see the charge level, or when its powering a bluetooth speaker, and I am physically away, to check should I top it up. Anyways, the app, as you could already predict for a powerbank app, is terrible. First, it requires an account. OK, harvest my charge data all you want. However, the account token expir...

Great. I can now bypass the oddities claude code implies in terminal. Wrote a connector whic enables me to chat with claude code in slack. Way more accessible, and works crossplatform too!

Just had bunch of teenagers walk by our house, with a huge ass portable speaker blasting one of them scrolling tiktok. I mean, I could try to justify at least somewhat being obnoxiously loud with listening to music together, but blasting tiktok slop all over the neighborhood is a new for me.

RE: https://allovertheplace.ca/@DavidGoldfield/116391212279050712 This is one of the reasons I am quite frustrated about Anthropic blocking access to tools like OmenClaw. I've been using OpenClaw for a while to do exactly that. It helped me manage content on websites, which have a user interface that is rather inaccessible, helping me to describe pictures, sort information, and all context-sensitive because it has a lot of memory and context of what I do and what are my needs. Now that Ope...

Til: Nasa doesn't refer to ice melting as, well ice melting, but as "bake out". "Honey, the ice is baking out like crazy in my drink, mind getting me some more?"

@zersiax@cupoftea.social This is fantastic. I've thought of the stream deck for a while, haven't found enough usecases to justify it though. What do you use it for?

@robin@kipp.social absolutely. Will look into this. The mission timelikne is a tricky one. Nasa actually doesn't give out whats actually going on right now, so I'm winging it based on the static timeline they have posted. So far its worked quite well.

all the terrible implementation of the age verification checks in our everyday devices I am seeing people battle with makes me at least little more happy that Estonia has implemented digital E-ID already decades ago. For me, to verify my age, or identity electronically, its a matter of entering my personal details to an app, get a authentication request from our E-ID app, put in my pin and whatever service wants to verify me gets a verifiable bit of data on me. This is one of the times where I w...

The kind folks who have coded the iLok license manager for windows are truly masterminds of UX and accessibility. The sign in button appears in a treeview widget with a single item. The widget and the item in the treeview are called &quot;klick tis button to sign in.&quot; To reach the button, one has to expand the treeview, focus the single item, press tab and then enter. Shurely there is no confirmation after that, and the app forgets to remove the &quot;klick this button to sign i...

interesting that the Nasa livestream seems to be in mono. I do remember that during some of the older launches, we have had a stereo audio feed from the launch pad.

I wanted to view the #Artemis mission data at a glance in an accessible way. So I created myself a dashboard. Including, among other things, a sonified live flight path. Vibecoded this within 2 hours so its likely full of bugs, also a lot of the live data from Nasa is not live yet. If you want, you can check it out here. @podfeet@chaos.social Sorry about that, fixing. It was counting to launch window opening which was actually correct, nasa doesn't publish the clock in a machine readable way so I couldn't automatically sync their pauses. Just synced it to their new T0 @jane_jordan@dragonscave.space

What happens with Zoom AI, if I test zoom meetings and have my audio book playing at the same time? well this. There either are some serious forces now inbound or my account is just flagged for crime. The transcript appears to document a fragmented discussion about security protocols in a hospital setting, including the use of specific protective equipment and procedures for identifying individuals during what seems to be a security situation involving potential hostages. The conversation touch...

@cachondo@defcon.social Thank you so much. they do use an app over here, which is called Movie Reading, which does listen to the movie audio from cinema or TV or wherever you are. It then syncs up the audio description track on your phone, which is pretty neat and good quality, but the catalog is very, very limited. It's just Estonian movies, so they don't buy any international stuff for us, sadly, but well, glad you enjoyed it anyway.

My Smart scale, Qardio has finally stopped communicating with the world. So, naturally I pose a question. Whats a good go to #Accessible Smart Scale these days? The Withings app seems to be alll right, but they have had their fair share of accessibility issues in the past and I am hesitant to make a purchase based on just a demo of an app. So, whats everyone using these days? #Accessibility #A11y
