@tsturm every day there comes a time i start wondering: who are these people? is my non-ai echo chamber this robust? who are these people? you hang in there, man. surely there's nothing stupid that comes out of entrusting one's decisionmaking and sanity to arbitrary code hallucinations, this is definitely the way of the future.

@tsturm @cstross I’m in basically the same situation, plus getting a weekly email reminding me I have not activated my copilot pro license. If you have the option to simply ignore those polls, it could be the best strategy. I

@tsturm I'd say there's a confirmation bias built-in. Providing even the option to officially state abstaining from the use of LLM-tools or even gaining "negative saving" by the use of these tools would contradict the image of LLMs being helpful and reshaping the workplace landscape. So, obviously, none of the people putting their names under multi-million - if not billion - dollar contracts licensing LLM models want to hear or read they made a wrong - and costly - decision.

@tsturm Yup, some people I know just had an AI course at work where they were asked to describe how it improves their work & there was no option to say "not at all"... It's insane, no business worth the tiniest amount of salt should act like this for anything.

@tsturm Brought up and guided by an ethical statistician, this leads me to think that either - the survey was written by complete amateurs who should not be given access to a spreadsheet - the survey was written by people who wanted a specific result and should not be trusted as any « finding » is tainted by leading/forced questions

@tsturm ugh, we had the same. I called it out on slack, I'm all for data driven decisions, but to make good decisions you need good data. Leading questions are not that. If you've already made the decision, don't try to retcon with bullshit surveys.
