A €3 Zigbee leak sensor under an appliance is not clever automation. It just waits quietly for the one event I really don't want to discover by stepping into it. The important maintenance is boring: test it with a damp cloth, check the alert path, and replace tired batteries before the sensor becomes decoration. #Zigbee2MQTT #HomeAssistant #smarthome

I just installed a couple water leak sensors and connected to #HomeAssistant trough #Zigbee2MQTT which recognizes it as a SNZB-05P They work - but every day I see a short connectivity drop. Does anyone know if some timeout or something can be adjusted to suppress this message?

I like ZigBee for Home-Automation 🙂

Hardware from many different manufacturers, all compatible with each other.

  • Philips
  • Ikea
  • Sonoff
  • Xiaomi

No proprietary bridges, no cloud, no vendor lock-in. Just some free and open source software (Zigbee2MQTT / Home Assistant) and a tiny USB dongle (ConBee II) as a network coordinator.

All meshing nicely and every grid-powered device effectively extends my network's range by relaying datagrams.
