Today's PSA: #XFS v4 filesystems are not supported by #Debian kernel packages 6.18.5 and later so older systems may run into issues. I have a created-in-2011 snowflake VM running -testing that was bitten by this a few months back. For users using stable this will only be an issue with the upgrade to forky (Debian 14), but it's a bit nasty. See: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1126710

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: resample the data fork mapping after cycling ILOCK RefluXFS is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the Linux kernel's XFS filesystem copy-on-write path. Have pushed 0.9.5-dev branch to codeberg of foxing ( https://codeberg.org/aenertia/foxing/src/branch/0.9.5-dev ) in preparation for release tagging. A LOT of features and a couple of bug-fixes now the packet/file processing engine has stabilized ; including Semantic Routing to Parsers for Metadata Extraction and in-path Binary analysis using local ORT/BERT models ; letting you get semantic search powers for free when you copy something with foxingd/fxcp #linux #filesystem #bert #vectordb #postgres #xfs #stratis #blake3 #localllm
