How will this end? Three coot chicks, still in the black fluffy stage, have lost their parents. They were panic-peeping, tightly grouped and paddling away from a lock. Other boaters heard from pedestrians that the adults are above the lock with a fourth chick. After a half hour, the three chicks eventually settled on some reeds (see photo).
