Solidarity with our WWU-UK colleagues! On 29 October at 10:30 AM UK time, the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC) will hold a public hearing on the scope of union representation for Wikimedia Foundation UK staff. This is the only public hearing in the recognition process and an opportunity for WWU members and the wider community to show solidarity by observing via Zoom. It’s official: WWU-US/CWA is now certified to represent eligible Wikimedia Foundation workers in the U.S. On September 17, the NLRB issued the Certification of Representative: [1] https://www.nlrb.gov/case/20-RC-391740 52 days after WMF declined voluntary recognition, U.S. recognition is complete. Proud of the work that our union is doing to counter FUD by providing our perspectives on our organizing campaigns. For the WWU-US/CWA bargaining unit, US labor law and federal enforcement under the current political regime are very much stacked against workers.
