It was released on November 20, 2001, through Substractif, a sub-label of Alien8 Recordings. Mark Richard-San of Pitchfork described the album as "a journey into abstract drones and cinematic atmosphere."[1] In 2016, Lindsey Rhoades of Stereogum wrote, "Feeling bound by the trappings of techno, Hecker was already on a different wavelength with Haunt Me, clearly seeking something that would trigger ASMR-induced enlightenment, and he ran with it."
