I termini chiave dovrebbero includere: cessate il fuoco immediato, completo e incondizionato su tutti i fronti, compresi terra, mare e aria; impegno reciproco a non colpire infrastrutture militari, civili o economiche; fine delle operazioni militari e stop alla guerra mediatica; impegno a rispettare la sovranità, l'integrità territoriale e la non ingerenza negli affari interni; garantire la libertà di navigazione nel Golfo Persico, nello Stretto di Hormuz e nel Golfo dell'Oman; meccanismo comune per monitorare l'attuazione e risolvere le controversie; revoca graduale delle sanzioni statunitensi in cambio dell'impegno dell'Iran a rispettare i termini dell'accordo.
