A new study has found #PetCats were #responsible for fewer than 1% of #NativeAnimals taken to #NSW #wildlife carers over an 11-year period. The study, done by #UniversityOfQueensland (UQ) researchers in collaboration with the #AustralianPetWelfareFoundation, has sparked renewed debate about the risk the popular pets pose to threatened wildlife. It analysed NSW wildlife rescue and rehabilitation data on 158 threatened and endangered native species between 2013 and 2024. There were 52,475 threatened animals taken to wildlife carers during that period, with 311 incidents attributed to cat attacks. That amounts to 0.6 per cent of cases. Lead researcher and wildlife ecologist, Kate Dutton-Regester from the UQ #SchoolOfVeterinaryScience, said it was important to make a distinction between domestic and feral animals. #auspol #fauna #catshttps://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-07-16/pet-cats-impact-on-threatened-wildlife-uq-study/106912594

No one individual is responsible for another's actions, and that's a #fact statistically. It has become crystal clear to me, that We seem to live in a new #technocratic age, where making #comments gets you #censored in 2026 more and more for no upfront #reason directly #responsible for this. Especially in ways that attacks #FreeSpeech #rights all at once from around our world. And quite frankly, you and I #deserve better #treatment in this way.
