I know things all around the world aren’t great right now, and I’m not going to pretend that things don’t look pretty bleak. I also acknowledge that my attention span and personal interests don’t allow me to follow everything that’s going on around the globe. This is my take on some of the things I follow, after my first coffee of the day. #USpol Trump’s popularity is low. Like really low. The list of failures is stacking up. He’s lost the support of members of his party, some of the conservative press, and has polling so low Guinness is taking notes. If there’s one thing I’d say about the Reflecting Pool, it would be “Release The Epstein Files!” #UKpol #VoteBinface Farage is busy shooting himself in the foot, with Count Binface just helping him aim. Reform is not enjoying the kind of attention they’re receiving, being made to look as ridiculous as they actually are. #UkraineWar #Crimea #SiegeOfCrimea The Siege of Crimea appears to be working. Ukraine has been striking supply routes on land and sea. Putin is becoming as unpopular as Trump. #AI #AIslop Awareness of the economic and environmental impacts of massive data centres is becoming more mainstream, while the general public is getting tired of slop images and videos everywhere they look. Some businesses are being slammed with massive bills for AI use, and feeling backlash over using AI in their products or services from their customers. Several companies have publicly taken a position against AI generated content, either requiring it to be identified, or banning it outright. #RecklessBen #BricksAndMinifigs Reckless Ben and his quest to return Brian Mansell his Star Wars LEGO from Bricks and Minifigs (BAM) is still ongoing. BAM had a gag order placed on Ben after the release of Part 2, but the gag order has been lifted and Part 3 is out. During the saga, Ben has inadvertently exposed a rotten culture of corruption in a number of US law departments, involving the Morman church and the people who run BAM’s Corporate affairs. Keep fighting the good fight. Love and support one another. And maybe take some heart in the fact that the fascists are not having a great time right now either. 🤗🫶

I think this whole Reckless Ben Vs. BAM situation resonates with so many people because it sets on FULL display the values of our capital-centered justice system. At its core, it's an outgrowth of the colonial attitude that spawned it, an attitude at the core of Western patriarchal society that gives white Christian moneyed men the impression that they are entitled to ownership of all the wealth and resources around them. They've convinced themselves that the people to which those resources really belong don't deserve them, or don't use them properly, or are too irresponsible with them that it's perfectly okay to seize them for their own use. And when the rightful owners or original users demand them back per contract or LAW, they make excuses or threats to maintain control, because they've tied their brains in knots with all kinds of justifications as to why they should keep hold of the stuff they stole. We've seen it happen with land, water, money, housing, our own bodies, and now with fucking LEGO. There is nothing too small, too insignificant for the Colonial project to take from you. They will literally steal candy from a baby, then turn around and try to claim that the baby is wrong for having it in the first place. Even the white people who enjoyed the protection of the white-oriented western colonialism are starting to wake up to the fact that their skin color will not protect them if a rich white man wants what they have. We're all noticing the ugly writing on the wall now, and getting so close to class consciousness we can touch it. All that's needed now is for those folks that still see themselves as fundamentally different from those marginalized people around them to see the parallel between the blatant theft of a valuable LEGO collection and the blatant theft of land from indigenous societies to finally make the thing CLICK. #LEGO #RecklessBen #bricksAndMinifigs
