I had not known that filming of the short German TV show Space Patrol started two months after the first rejected pilot episode for Star Trek in America, and both shows would air their first episodes in their respective countries within only a week of each other over a year later. Which makes it really weird how almost identical the concepts for both shows are. Space Patrol doesn't have the pretense of science exploration, but otherwise it's the same idea. #StarTrek #Raumpatrouille
