poem about heavy bones
#poetrytime
Guilt bears down on my bones
Frozen in a way I can’t be left alone
Swallowing hard does nothing to remove the sick
Left over saliva from a monsters long lick
Lingering and festering and poisoning my home
My body, clawing and reaching for a tombstone
Bury me under the earth
Let the worms and bugs eat away my worth
Let the weight of the living push me so far down
Till I’m no longer haunted by the footsteps of creatures above the ground
Tear down or break, just please remove the carved stone
So all that is left is my guilt rotted bones
