Not sure about you @oxy@social.bsdlab.au but I get pretty poor speeds from #FreeBSD #pkg . I'm trying to work out where the bottleneck is because it is frustrating for a large fleet compared to #OpenBSD and #AlmaLinux updates: [223/223] Fetching mariadb118-server-11.8.8: 100% 51 MiB 2.9 MB/s 00:18

I run 'pkg update' every night on all my #FreeBSD servers. Last night at 00:20 UTC some of those #pkg processes sucked out the whole memory and led to failed applications. Even a mariadb-cluster went down. Anyone else with similar problems lately?

running bastille pkg ALL upgrade -y and getting stuck in a bug where pkg is trying to upgrade itself but never does.

a quick little fix of: bastille cmd $JAIL env ASSUME_ALWAYS_YES=yes pkg bootstrap -f and some manual spot checking to ensure that some packages didn't get removed (like postfix was removed... :/ )

#FreeBSD #bastille #pkg
