I'm on my 4th major redesign of the @pixelfed@mastodon.social mobile app, and I couldn't be happier with the twrnc UI library, which is basically tailwind for react native. It's fast, clean and consistent. Nativebase and tamagui just were not it for us. History: Pixelfed App v1: nativebase (2023) Pixelfed App v2: nativebase (2024) Pixelfed App v3: tamagui (2025) Pixelfed App v4: twrnc (2026) #pixelfed #pixelfedApp

Our new mobile app is coming along great! We heard you! The new app will support many of your feature requests, like links across bios, comments and posts opening in a browser with a tap, preserving your feed position when you browse a profile, opening comments in a modal for easy browsing and much more! We won't tease an ETA, we'll share the TestFlight and APK link when ready! #pixelfed #pixelfedApp

Replying to a comment on the Pixelfed app is always an adventure. This time there was no happy ending. I had to switch to the web UI on the phone where I could see three letters simultaneously ..but at least the post button was visible. #pixelfed #pixelfedapp

Hashtag following + custom feeds. Coming to the new app ✨ Custom feeds = combine accounts you follow with hashtags feeds, up to 25 per feed, and easily switch between them! #pixelfed #pixelfedApp
