Pay Equity It’s a simple enough concept. One that you would think would fit with the kiwi approach to life. One that would have allowed 130,000 working families better cope with the cost of living crisis. But then, just as the first of the 33 cases were finally to be resolved, this government torpedo’ed everything. They feared the backlash so much that when they were planning this they just called it ‘Project 10’. All papers were distributed by hand to prevent them ‘falling into the wrong hands’ i.e. ours. Like so many other important matters they also forced it though under urgency to prevent debate. Did none of them think “if we’re acting like this maybe this isn’t right”? Just remember that when you go to the polling booths later this year, and remind others as well. #NZPol #PayEquity
