Doesn't sound like much of an accomplishment (especially for long term #t1d folks) but the #omnipod 5 system has just reduced my #a1c into the high sevens. I'm still fighting with #unitedhealth over increasing the amount of pods I get per month, but I'm hopeful I will be able to get the insurance stuff sorted and stay with the system.

Insurance and Omnipod Insulin Pump Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
I may not have the issue I thought I would have with my insurance company providing more #omnipod pods than normal. With a 200u reservoir, my 85u/day #insulin use goes through a pod in a little over two days while normal change intervals for the system are every three days. At a bit over $50 a pod cash price, that would mean I'd need to spend about $500/month to buy the extra pods out of pocket. The good folks at reddit have told me that while a bit of a battle with the insurance company is to be expected, it should indeed be possible to get a scrip for 2-day pod changes which would solve the issue. The other alternative is to consider the use of a stronger concentration insulin, which frankly scares me a bit.

My #t1d tech stack seems to finally be producing visible results and I am #grateful. Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
I'm rocking #dexcom #g7 and #omnipod 5. Glooko says my GMI (A1c estimate) is in the low 8s which while far from ultimately ideal is an improvement from where I have been using normal injections. There is still some stuff that needs to be worked out given my current daily insulin usage. The pods are rated for three days, but my insulin usage rate and 200U reservoir size means I am having to change the pods every two days. I am hoping my endo and insurance company can come to terms with that at some point before I run out of pods. #progess is good!
