We are sharing our #MistakenLyrics for #TuneTuesday. I was a kid in the 1980s, and this song was constantly on the radio. Back then, I swore they were singing "We milked this city." I REFUSED to be corrected by my parents 😂 I blame the poor speakers and the dairy industry influence on my young mind because I don't hear it like that now. I've heard several mondegreens for different lines in the chorus of Boston's "More Than a Feeling", but mine was always the second line. The correct lyrics are: "It's more than a feeling (More than a feeling) When I hear that old song they used to play (More than a feeling) And I begin dreaming (More than a feeling) 'Til I see Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away" But my brain changed "When I hear that old song they used to play" to "When I heard that old song yesterday". I must have sung it that way for decades before I happened to look at the lyrics. #TuneTuesday #MistakenLyrics I always hated the song "The Ketchup Song (Aserejé)" by Las Ketchup until I learned it's about a guy singing a song passionately but wrong on the dancefloor. It's a nice silly story and we all do it. With my friends it's only a good party if my sister storms the dancefloor singing "whacka maka bone" instead of "rock the microphone" when "Freestyler" by Boomfunk MC is playing. 🤣 Btw the song in Aserejé is "Rapper's Delight" 🤯
