The first passenger run of the new G class tram today. And what a morning! Starting at Essendon Depot there was a media conference and gathering of politicians, project staff, drivers and many others to celebrate the big day. The first new tram class for Melbourne since the E class, these medium capacity trams will initially run on the route 59, followed by the 57 and 82. We rode it down to Flinders Street before it turned back to head up to Essendon Depot.
