Delicate ink strokes layer mist over jagged peaks, while tiny boats drift beneath a temple bell’s unseen chime. This scroll compresses six river vistas into a single, shifting dream of distance—how many figures dissolve into the haze before your eyes? #EightViews #JapaneseArt #ClevelandMuseumofArt https://clevelandart.org/art/2015.470

The artist who inspired anime ⛩️: Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870–1949) — a master of Shin-hanga whose woodblock prints captured moonlit temples, rain-soaked streets, and still ponds with breathtaking quiet. Trained for 19 years under ukiyo-e master Kobayashi Kiyochika, he later pioneered the use of light and shadow to give his landscapes an almost cinematic emotional weight. A quiet giant who inspired generations — including anime. #history #Art #JapaneseArt #ShinHanga #anime #animeart #Koitsu
