just reminding y’all #IVoted last Sunday.
my parents met here in #NYC and got battered, bruised and jailed in the 1960s, during a #GOTV campaign registering Puerto Ricans in El Barrio. i was even conceived during one of their voting defence campaigns.
my parents spilled blood so we all could vote. +40 years later, i campaigned here in #NYS, against blackbox voting, and for the paper & scanner voting machines we use today.
VOTE cuz every ballot is blessed with a little of my family’s ashé.

do y’all know my building’s basement is the actual election day polling place for our precinct? one year, i rolled out of bed in my pajamas to vote for Bill de Blasio.
yet today i walked 3 ghastly short blocks to the public housing next door, so i could vote early with my chosen sister. it was our excuse to have brunch.
VOTED NO ON INITIATIVE #3. it screams PORK to the real estate mafia. dont see what selling of public land got to do with new bike lanes.
