#iFixit can’t accept a return because of constraints on Lithium Ion batteries transportation. But they refunded me, and I can do whatever I want with the battery. 😲 Anyone in Paris area needs a mid-2011 11-inch MackBook Air battery? #MacBookAir11

I've been using my iFixit precision bit kit for years to crack open phones, laptops, and random electronics that had no business being that hard to open. Today, completely out of nowhere, it finally clicked. The kits come in sets of 16, 32, or 64 bits. Not 15. Not 20. Not some "nice round number for humans." 16, 32, 64. As in literal computer bits. Well played, iFixit. Well played. 😅 #NerdHumor #iFixit #RightToRepair #TechJokes #ITookTooLongToGetThis

RT: @iFixit Replaceable batteries are not a fantasy, companies just needed a legal shove. EU rules are already pushing Nintendo and Amazon toward more repairable devices, from Switch hardware with replaceable batteries to signs of Kindle battery replacement kits and guides. That does not mean the fight is over. Parts pairing, regional lockouts, and loopholes are still very real. But every replaceable battery is one more crack in the throwaway tech model. Massive respect for the guys who, immediately upon receiving their new #Jolla phone, tore it down for an #Ifixit article. They were doing this at the actual launch event on the balcony with dozens watching! https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Jolla+Phone+(2026)+Teardown/223943

The Fairbuds XL just became the first headphones to earn a 10/10 repairability score on our new headphone scorecard! Replaceable battery. Replaceable ear pads. Modular design. Actual repair manuals. This is what headphones look like when they’re built to last instead of built for the landfill. https://www.ifixit.com/News/117206/were-now-scoring-wireless-headphones-for-repairability#iFixit #RightoRepair #FixTheWorld

We’re now scoring wireless headphones! We evaluated 14 popular models using a new scoring rubric. The results highlight a clear gap between what’s possible and what’s currently being built. Let us know which headphones you'd like to see scored and read our blog at the link below! https://www.ifixit.com/News/117206/were-now-scoring-wireless-headphones-for-repairability#iFixit #RightoRepair #FixTheWorld

Apple has issued an emergency recall for the new Neo laptop after discovering a critical design flaw: it’s repairable. Internal testing revealed the device contains replaceable parts and a battery that comes out without adhesive. Unacceptable for their standards. — #AprilFools #iFixit #RightoRepair #FixTheWorld

The new MacBook Neo is the most repairable MacBook we’ve seen in 14 years. Screwed-in battery tray, modular ports, sensible layout, and day-one repair manuals. It’s not perfect, but it’s a real step forward for MacBook repair. RT @iFixit@x.com: BMW’s latest “innovation” isn’t about performance or safety. It’s a logo-shaped screw designed to keep owners out of their own cars. We dug into the patent, the intent behind it, and why @adafruit@x.com is already working on a custom bit to undo BMW’s attempt to block repair.
