#Colombian officials have recently authorised a plan to kill dozens of free-range #hippos that have spread across the country since being introduced by the drug cartel leader Pablo Escobar in the 1980s. The programme covers up to 80 animals and comes after other population-control efforts, including neutering, that failed to curb the herd’s growth. These poor creatures are the victims of a government's inability and incompetence to find a more humane remedy. Fuck mankind. #animalrights
