Scale Something about glaciers that many people don't realise is just how big they are. This one is ≈ 2000 metres high and 800m wide at its terminus. If you look closely at the photo there small coloured dots in the distance. Those are cars parked at the start of the trail to the snout which is ≈ 700m walk.
