Their whole identity is the scam.
This should be the most obvious clue that the person is a scammer, but since many people don't necessarily check the scammer's profile and only notice a single post at a time in their timeline, it can go unnoticed.
But a normal person who needs help has a life.
A normal person occasionally shares photos of friends, family, and perhaps their cat. A normal person talks about work and the random rant they have concerning their boss or some product or service they disliked.
A scammer is all about the story of how they need your help. That is because this is their job. They have made the whole purpose of having a social media account to phish for people to pay them. And as I said in post 1 of 2, it is all about volume and maximizing their "ad" coverage, just as a corporation would.
The scammers lack substance beyond the scam because the scam is their job. Many scammers will even post 4–8-hour workdays, professionally asking you for money.
Even a person under duress will talk about something other than being under duress, especially since it is human nature to find some form of escape. But since this is their job, there is no substance, and nearly always only the scam.
