@cstross@wandering.shop It's peace prizes, belligerence, gunboat diplomacy, and invasions on the crazy monarch calendar, today. Secret police, disappearances, murder, and breakdown of the rule of law was yesterday. They might return later in the week. https://mastodon.scot/@JdeBP/115921003477397814 #DonaldJTrump #MonarchistParty #USPolitics #Greenland #FIFAPeacePrize #NATO

Petulant lying letters to ambassadors now, eh? There is only one country threatening to invade #Greenland by force, and its head of state is doing so openly for all the world to see. The sad thing about all this is that Greenland has been coöperating with the U.S.A. over the latter's security since the 1950s. This will go down in history as how the spoiled brat ego and avarice of a stupid monarch and xyr toadies wrecked it all. #DonaldJTrump #ElbowsUp #NATO

@cstross@wandering.shop The laws of physics of this Post-Stross Universe hold. You still talked about a future better than reality turned out to be, where a #FIFAPeacePrize awardee started a war 28 days later. Although the universe taking less than 6 hours to hit below your mark must be something of a record. #Venezuela #USPolitics #PeteHegseth https://mastodon.scot/@JdeBP/115776208271482130

I forgot that we now live in a Post-Stross Universe, where what Charlie Stross can imagine is now the upper bound on how positive the future can be. A couple of hours after I wrote that post, I learned that *in reality* the toadies and Trumpanzees have perverted the #CocaCola #SantaClaus into something well beyond people's pessimistic imaginations. https://mastodon.scot/@JdeBP/115776155828082944 American Coca-Cola Santa Claus is a menacing horror figure, now. ♪ "Holidays are coming!" #USPol
