Poland and Slovakia are happy to cash the EU cheques, yet loudly refuse to comply with EU law on recognising same-sex marriages concluded abroad.
If European values are such an unbearable burden, perhaps Moscow's sphere of influence is more to their taste. Putin's authoritarianism, backwards religion and queerphobia seem to make rather comfortable bedfellows these days
