I am feeling sick today so randomly watching Star Trek. Usually Star Trek gives one a Utopian future to consider. Then I remember just now in Star Trek history, WWIII breaks out in 2026. I hope life doesn't imitate art, but I'm scared it might. #StarTrek #disturbing

(1/4) A #disturbing trend I observed over the last 30 years in leadership (speaking primarily of #FOSS #leadership) is a slow but steady tendency as leaders get more powerful, they become increasingly unwilling to admit they've erred. I've observed this both with prior generation of #FreeSoftware leadership (eg: Moglen, Raymond, Rosen, Stallman), & with FOSS leaders contemporary to me (eg: Behlendorf, Dolan, Torvalds, Zemlin). … (This is N posts long; replying to helps threading.) #OpenSource

I've also observed that often coincidences with the concentration of power into the governance of a foundation and that those which predominantly make up both their board and code of conduct team are overwhelmingly left-wing or progressive liberals. I made a dish with dried shiitake mushrooms and had the wildest dreams. Of course I don't remember most of it, but I do remember the advert within a dream/nightmare that was Make-a-deal-and-shake-her-hand-Barbie. It was two plastic hands joined together at the wrist that you could shake like you had just completed a business deal. Because it had two hands you and your friend could make a deal with Barbie at the same time! It also came with a manilla folder that contained spreadsheets and a legal contract. #Disturbing
