At this year's #DiscworldConvention we are proud to be supporting three fantastic charities: Alzheimer's Society, Orangutan Foundation and TransActual. All will have stalls and presentation slots at the Convention where you can meet their reps and ask questions about the great work they do. Our first 2026 Charity Spotlight is... Alzheimer's Society. This is a deeply personal charity for all of us, as our beloved Sir #TerryPratchett was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 2007. AS funds research, campaigning, and support for those living with 'the Embuggerance'. An important update for everyone staying at the Convention hotel: You will *not* need photographic ID in order to check in. Following the concerns raised by Members, we have been in touch with the hotel and have received written assurance that photo ID will not be required at check-in. #Discworld #DiscworldConvention #TerryPratchett #News

On this day in 1996, the very first International Discworld Convention was held in Manchester, UK! That makes this year the thirtieth anniversary of the #DiscworldConvention. Were you there?
