One thing I learned during the #Dubya Administration (where #oil went from $27 to $142 before crashing the global economy) was: "Once they know how much you're willing to pay, prices will remain high while they reap the profits."
I uploaded this video to YT 19 years ago. Not only was the economist right, but oil prices hit nearly DOUBLE his worst case scenario, and the resulting Recession was so bad, it was dubbed "The Great Recession".
