It cracks me up that my husband and Summer are so impressed with the biggest dahlias. We managed to grow another really huge one but the wind took it out today. It was starting to get brown on the back anyway. What a fun happening to follow everyday as the new flowers open up and get bigger, bigger and biggest. Our dahlia plants are still putting on a show. Slight neglect hasn't slowed them down. It gives me great joy to see beautiful happenings that aren't hindered by negative outside events. The spectacular blossoms push back against all that would tear us down by continuing to spread the pure joy that comes from witnessing almost impossibly intricate beauty. I wandered around the garden while Summer was getting her spa treatment from the mobile groomer. I sent this photo to my daughter who says our newest dahlia blossom is named Omega. I had access to an abundance of new to me dahlia tubers this year. The wait for them to open up is often long. This one is called Terracotta and it has been teasing a flower for weeks. It is big and beautiful and worth the wait. #BloomScrolling #Dahlias
