In Greek mythology, when Zeus and his brothers freed the Cyclopses, they each received a magical item in thanks. Zeus got thunderbolts, Poseidon got a trident, and Hades got a helmet of invisibility. Ironically, the god of death was the only one who didn't get a weapon.
