💸💸 Google just had its first negative cash flow quarter due to massive AI spending 「 As a result of its increasing AI demands, Google reports it spent $44.9 billion expanding its AI footprint in the second quarter, and you don’t need an accounting degree to know which number is larger. With $39.1 billion in cash income, this spending left Google with -$5.8 billion free cash flow 」 https://arstechnica.com/google/2026/07/google-just-had-its-first-negative-cash-flow-quarter-ever-due-to-massive-ai-spending/ #ai #google #capex #datacenters

i think the mkt needs to lose several thousand points and become more balanced - the irony is that by losing they end up making the mkt stronger long term - spacex ipo crashing to earth has set the tone but the narrative has a long run out - you won't unwind this fast, local ai for smb may end up saving the day (over next 3-5 yrs) #capex withdrawals #private equity #rsi #macd crossover

Expanding our #S3:

  • #seaweedfs: 3 masters, 3 filers and 6 volume servers across 2 zones (datacenters)
  • #garage: 2 different clusters, one of that consists of 6 nodes across 3 zones, the other is just 3 nodes in single zone.

But we still use S3 from cloud providers (mostly for archiving), because those are more flexible and cheaper on #capex.
