Most of our flowering plants colonized the north Baffin after the last ice age. As the ice retreated the plants followed it north. But three of our flowers survived the ice age here and reestablished populations. They are Vaux’s Cinquefoil, Pallas Wallflower, and this beauty, Silvery Oxytrope. One of the best places to find it is at our cabin. #Nunavut #CabinLife #Wildflowers

Taken stuff out to the cabin yesterday and this is where we got stuck. Got out, and then stuck again, headed back and switched to snowmobiles. Looks like the days of driving there are done for the year. #CabinLife #Nunavut

Yesterday we “warmed” the cabin. Crowded and joyful. People came and ate and made space for others. Games were held at my in-laws’ cabin for more room. Tuktu stew, allu, bannock, salads and plenty of desserts. #CabinLife #Nunavut
