#UKPolitics The Gorton and Denton byelections are this Thursday, 26th February. If you live there, have previously voted #Labour and do not want #Reform to come in: voting Green and helping Hannah Spencer win is, on this occasion, the tactical vote. But it’s also a historic vote that will shift the political discourse of the country, the Overton window, towards better, fairer politics, not further away. Vote Green! RE: https://zirk.us/@ChrisMayLA6/115997676141332418 Interestingly, so far, the replies to this post have indicated wide-spread support for the proposition that switching parties should prompt a by-election.... a direct opposition to the UK's current (and established) electoral norm. Also across the replies have been some interesting suggestions about the details of the reasoning such a 'recall' vote. Once again the fediverse offers an interesting debate - thanks, and if you've not yet read the thread - enjoy #politics #byelections
