As Charlotte Woodworth argues (in a post on LInkedIn) we should see busses not as a back-up for those without cars, rather it would be great to see them presented as the preferred transport (for green & social reasons). And, given that women are much larger bus users, it would be great to see cheaper & expanded bus provision as a clear gendered social benefit, stressing its positive impact for (especially) key workers getting to work.
