The #GarminPilotApp (for #Android and #iOS) is just sooooo bad. #Garmin makes really good—and very expensive—avionics, but the app is just a total flop. You don't even get the same app features on iOS and Android. I really don't know how a company with such high standards can develop an app that's this bad. I’m curious to know what changed in Airbus’s software that allowed increased susceptibility to cosmic ray/environmental data corruption that would allow a software update to fix it. I’m assuming the broken version wasn’t doing consensus/voting for some piece of data or missed checking some ECC on some sensor data or something. The upper atmosphere is an unfriendly place for electronics. Really it’s incredible that we have had as much success as we have. #avionics
