I’m curious to know what changed in Airbus’s software that allowed increased susceptibility to cosmic ray/environmental data corruption that would allow a software update to fix it.
I’m assuming the broken version wasn’t doing consensus/voting for some piece of data or missed checking some ECC on some sensor data or something.
The upper atmosphere is an unfriendly place for electronics. Really it’s incredible that we have had as much success as we have.
