What die needs to be rolled for liar stress in "Stealing Stories for the Devil"?

I’ve read these books and swear I remember seeing this originally, but while playing neither I not my players could find this information in the books nor online. The game is fun but the layout of the information is terrible.

can you help me decide if I’m the asshole?

as posted, my job consists of pushing people around from the ER to wherever unit they need to go and yes, I know I need another job or to study something to leave the healthcare system altogether, but in the meantime I have to stick with what I’ve got. Today was a specially bad day and after working 6 hours non stop I wanted to take my 30 minute break. The charge didn’t want me to take it, arguing I’ve already taken several breaks to eat and drink and have a seat (true), he didn’t take a break or eat anything (seems to be true), that those breaks altogether count as my pause, if everyone did what I planed to do, the ER would sink (most definitely true but not my problem). As posted, I used to work in this ER bedside and worked like that without questioning it. I don’t work like that anymore. There is a kitchen in the ER where I leave my food, take a plate and prepare something to bite so when I’m done with a patient I can drink or eat while I wait for my next assignment. Sometimes the charge doesn’t have any assignment, so I have a seat and wait. And eat, and drink, and read something on my phone. I believe this is what’s happening: To the ER nurses this looks like I’m on my break whereas I’m waiting for my next assignment. To me, if I cannot leave the ER, lie on the ground or take a nap, I’m not on my break. The kitchen is full of water bottles and hospital food, sometimes not very good but warm. Theoretically this is for the patients but in practice doctors and nurses stuff themselves with it, and if they do, so do I. In this hospital there is also a cafeteria that makes tons of food they don’t get to sell and instead of throwing it away, they take it to the ER for doctors and nurses to eat. I eat it as well. I’m not sure if I’m the asshole because on the last 2 days I didn’t even have to cook back home and I could even take food from that cafeteria home, but it seems the expectation in the ER is: you may eat that food that’s going to be discarded anyway only if you work like us, meaning not taking a 30 minute break, but several mini breaks that might sum up 30 minutes. Being the only one that acts differently is very visible, even though if on paper I’m doing everything correctly. The expectation is that I’m not going to have a 30 minute break and I should be happy with it. I don’t know what’s better: not eating any patient and cafeteria food, only eating during my break my own food so I enjoy a 30 minute break or becoming one of them for free food. It’s more the time I’d need to buy and cook that food than what it costs, but saving money is also something I like. The manager knows this happens and tolerates it because he doesn’t care about discarded food and if he did, there is a severe shortage of nursing staff where I live, no wonder why. I also do things beyond my job description, but this is my fault: I shouldn’t look for patient files, search for patients (because my job is to transport them, not to find them), move empty beds to be cleaned, calm patients, bring them blankets, take them to the toilet… I do this because sometimes it gets so boring because the charge doesn’t give me any assignment, so I’m open to lend a hand, but then the charge gets a call and I get 5 assignments at the same time (and they don’t lend a hand). I don’t want this to become the new expectation. Boundaries are harder than it looks.

Can a portable KeePassXC work on any OS?

I wanted to switch to KeePassXC and I wanted to download it on a encrypted USB drive for portability. I know I can do this on Windows, but will the password manager work on other OSes? I switch between Windows and Linux, and I want to make sure that I can do it on both. I read an online article that says its possible, but you need to make sure you have a certain file on the drive for it to work?

What's one very obscure and strange fact that you probably can't get people to admit its true?

In the 1930’s a man called Joseph Figlock rescued a toddler falling from a fourth story window Thrice. At the same location. In THREE separate years. two of them being IN A ROW.

What is a knowledge or skill which you thought you just couldn't understand, until eventually you did?

Whether it was explained differently, or a foundational bit of knowledge made it click, how did you finally understand? No politics – I’m thinking along the lines of math/programming, language, crafts, etc.

Do you think your an uncle tom when you unironically defend establishment left wing American politics and all you do is ramble about whatever the other establishments side is doing ??

I was talking to some fella and he unironically chanted praises to using discord 24/7 and defended reddits karma system. He thought Kamala would be a good option for president ignoring AIPAC controls both sides , rambled about establishment conservatives figures not understanding most conservatives even amongst themselves are paranoid about one of them being a fed , implied it was Anti Semitic to think isreal influenced American politics , kept rambling about “the left” (he kept using it as a wholesale thing as an concept it might aswell be these fucking bugs powered by a hive mind in starship trooper , like the left and right isn’t one singular thing how fucking stupid can you be ) than ended it by screaming at me and blocking me. This guy was black btw and 29 and probably still unironically thinks Obama and other black democrats mean well for minorities no different than a Hispanic who voted Trump. How are people this fucking stupid and cut off from the plot , also for someone who hated the American right his symbol was superman which is often considered in alot of third world countries esp Latin america a symbol of American imperialism how stupid can neo libs be ?

Finding Old Animation: "If The World Were 100 People" by Jackie McCann

This book got turned into an animation when I was a kid, and it really informed my perspective and care for the world beyond myself when I was extremely young. I got a pang of nostalgia for it and searched youtube and found a clip of its first part. However, I distinctly remember that the full animation went into other issues like public health and access to electricity. Can you guys help me find the full animation?

I'm 18 and I have no friends

A lot of modern society reacts like this is a warning sign the second they hear it. Like it spreads, like something is wrong, like it needs fixing immediately. The assumption is always the same: no friends equals a bad life. I would argue something most people don’t like hearing. Being alone is better than having friends. Not fake friendships, not “just to fit in” friendships, and for some people even real ones can feel like more drain than value. Because your time becomes fully yours. No constant messaging. No plans you didn’t really want to make. No weekends lost to noise and repetition. Just space to think clearly, build yourself, and live on your own terms instead of constantly reacting to other people. Most people don’t question their social life. They just maintain it out of habit. Strip it back, and a lot of it is routine rather than meaning. Being alone isn’t always a problem. Sometimes it’s the cleanest way to live.

What's the Best Lemmy Client

After the armed robbery in Windhoek, I was looking for a new phone and when I got one I ask AI about the best apps. When I came to the Lemmy Client AI said that Jerboa is the best to use. So I installed it and this is my first Post with it. Now I wonder what humans rate the best Lemmy Client. Please comment what in your opinion is the best Lemmy Client and why you think so. Thanks to all and have a great night.

Do you notice anything strange about AI models?

I hear rumors from people that their AI behaves strangely, as if it are growling or squeaking strangely like a beast? Are these just rumors?

Do you drink tap water with ice or prefer bottled water while abroad?

I mean, the answer is subjective since it depends on the country you are visiting and their hygiene standards. If you are in a region where it’s not deemed sanitary then it’s best not to drink tap water or drink water with ice cubes since your stomach isn’t accustomed to it leads to travelers diarrhea, if you are not sure or hesitant about drinking tap water abroad, just pay for bottled water instead. This will be less likely to happen in a “first world” country as they have stricter standards on hygiene or sanitation, some regions even have the water treated and filtered until it is deemed safe enough for people to drink, in that case you can drink tap water in those places but still exercise caution if you are doubtful, like considering water purification. The alternative is to rely on bottled water.

Do dryer "condenser" kits work well enough?

There are kits like this sold online, the one linked, specifically type 4 with a drawer, work as follows. Put about 1-2 cm of water in, optional an icepack. Run your dryer. At the end of the cycle, dump the collected condensed water, optionally swapping the ice pack. Do these work well enough to dehumidify dryer output in a rental environment?
