#ThreeGoodThings #3goodthings
1) #Aikido on a Thursday! That has been infrequent for the past 6 months.
2) I’m getting kind of excited for this conference next week.
3) Spouse had a few small #art wins. Small, but if they keep stacking on each other like this, they could add up nicely.

#ThreeGoodThings #3goodthings
1) Spouse returns home from the East Coast tomorrow. (And also, the house is in decent shape. 😉)
2) Tortie girl cat has taken to sleeping on me. (This will likely end when my spouse is home.)
3) #Aikido today - training time got generally more scarce lately, so I am grateful for whatever I can get. (Dojo’s fine and busy. I’m just having to shift priorities a little extra these days.)
#ThreeGoodThings #3goodthings
1) Back to #Aikido!
2) Got asked to be #uke for one of the kyu test candidates for the next round. (Asked to be the test partner and “take falls for” a testing student. As I learned, my ukes were combination teachers/partners/coaches/cheerleaders, and I try to pay that forward when I get asked myself.)
3) Lunch with a former boss & mentor who became a friend. (And a collector of my spouse’s work and now they’re even closer with each other!)
#ThreeGoodThings #3goodthings
1) Got to see some coworkers I haven’t had a chance to talk to in about a year. At least.
2) Monday #Aikido. It’s become rare that I can go on Mondays.
3) Got to walk home from work for a change. It was lovely.

1) Spouse and I got to go to two #art gallery events this evening. Very, very different media (oil painting, textile, ceramic), all nice people to talk to, all very satisfying.
2) Small #Aikido group, all higher level students, intense class.
3) Kiddo had two classmates over - each had a recipe to cook for Spanish class. Sweet kids, and kind enough to share their homework with us! 😋

1) #Aikido with a good friend teaching. And the newer students who vanished returned after summer travels.
2) #FlowerPiano in #GoldenGatePark. Such a wonderful, intimate, human event. It will be joint for a few weeks - if you can make it, do. (Line is shorter before noon btw.)
3) Recommendation from my new therapist: A book called ADHD 2.0, by PsyD authors who have #ADHD themselves and first wrote about it together in the 90s. 1/2 way through and it’s eye-opening already. (Noted that one of their many tips for managing symptoms is regularly expressing #gratitude. 😎)

1) #Aikido this evening. Finally was presented with my Nidan certificate! (Passed the test in February.) Made me very happy.)
2) Mentee called to tell me she felt very good coming out of a marathon job interview.
3) Heat is taking a break for a few days.

1) #Aikido again! That has been a very good thing this weekend. Advice of the day was cryptic: “Throw with your tailbone - nothing mechanical.” Whatever that meant, it worked.
2) I have an important career discussion tomorrow, and I think I am prepared. Or at least prepared to further prepare early tomorrow morning. 🤞
3) Got most things arranged for spouse & kiddo to return on Tuesday.

1) I really like the range of teachers & styles at our #Aikido dojo. There is a standard curriculum handed down through one of the founder’s direct students, of course. But the head of the dojo is on a “practical application” kick and so his classes are kinda like training for Fight Club (was I supposed to say that?). Monday is a taste of Iwama, Friday morning and Saturday is about harnessing connection and seems like Jedi Academy, and Sunday the teacher is also a tai chi instructor & Feldenkrais trainer, and movement & improvisation flavor the class.
2) Shōjin ryōri lunch at Cha-Ya on Valencia. (Vegan Japanese Buddhist temple food - so wonderful.)
3) All household chores done, including laundry.
#ThreeGoodThings #3goodthings
1) Saw some older neighbor friends at the usual neighborhood Sunday lunch spot. Sometimes #normal is delightful.
2) Tortie girl cat and tuxedo boy cat took turns coming to entice me to the living room to play. 😻
3) Just two San Dan (3rd degree) students and me at #Aikido today. Got to play with technique reversals and “plan B” options when opponents resist a technique. So much fun! (And can be so confusing! “Wait - am I attacking or are you?!?”)

1) Watched “Project Hail Mary” with spouse & kiddo this evening. It was lovely as I’d been told. Kiddo’s squeal at the final scene is still ringing in my ears.
2) #Aikido helped me recalibrate my mood. I was pretty tangled up for some reason.
3) Actually looking forward to Jury duty tomorrow.

1) Happy #FathersDay to those who celebrate.
2) 10 years ago on Father’s Day, my spouse suggested I stop talking about trying #Aikido and just go do it. And got to train again with my dojo friends this morning!
3) Spouse came home from our trip to learn that the #art gallery owner she wants to work with would like to visit her studio… tomorrow! (So after a family lunch and a wander in #GoldenGatePark, I see some cleaning and arranging in my future!)
