@linux_mclinuxface@fosstodon.org @TrueNorthSpice@mastodon.world We are north-east-ish. From the radar it looks like we were hit by the smaller northern hail/torrential downpour pocket of the storm. The manholes started doing that thing where they wanted to become geysers; luckily, this has now stopped. #yegwx #abstorm

Severe thunderstorm alert for just West of #yeg. Red warning. 🔴 This one looks NASTY. Baseball sized or greater (!!) hail etc. Vaguely tracking towards #Edmonton. "At 7:43 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an extremely dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, baseball size or greater hail and heavy rain. This dangerous thunderstorm is just west of Entwistle and is moving to the east at 45 km/h." #yegwx #abstorm

Not sure what took out the instance for a few minutes there, power is still on, but maybe there was something upstream with Telus that was hit. Quite the storm tonight. Hope everyone that was out at events and festivals found shelter before it blew in! #mstdnca #yeg #yegwx #abstorm

@jeffsamsonow@mstdn.ca oh god I really hope so. I cracked open a window to get some cool air and I nearly vomited. This HAS to be mixed with sewer water 🤢🤢 I do have a sensitive nose, called my spouse and he started retching too, so def not just me 🙃 #yegwx #abstorm

Mildly concerned with that tornado-warned storm that's west of the city and tracking due east. Definitely gathering up the weather radio and battery packs, and making sure there's water and snacks in the basement. #abstorm #yegwx
