I’m here this weekend for a two-day event in Japan called "Functional Programming Festival." I’m scheduled to speak tomorrow, and I plan to discuss the connection between untyped lambda calculus and modern programming languages. While higher-order functions like map and reduce are commonplace in modern languages, their expressive power regarding functions naturally varies.

I feel a huge weight has been lifted now that a PR I’ve been working on for years has finally been merged, but my journey certainly doesn't end here. After all, even after exploring various other languages, type systems, and static analyzers, I still love PHPStan.

I heard a story once about a company that developed using Java and didn't allow the installation of interpreters like Ruby; apparently, Groovy was convenient for scripting there because it only required bringing in a JAR file.

At #phpcon_odawara , there’s a dedicated "1-minute feedback" slot right after each session for attendees to share their thoughts instantly. Since it's only a minute, speakers receive plenty of raw, genuine reactions while the talk is still fresh in everyone's minds.
