In this mess, I see some main drivers: 1) Provide visual tools to make decision making straightforward. The explanation should be redundant because the data should be self-explanatory. 2) if the explanation is embarrassing - you need a little of a DDD-ear for that - it’s a call for changing the underlying model.

So, in the last three years organizations progressively realized that zoom time is becoming a key constraint, depleting brain energy and making people irritable. Still they waste so much time/energy/money in explaining obvious things before getting to the point.

It’s the same trap over and over. Business running on a crappy legacy and a grandiose plan to decommission it. In the meanwhile, “we are not supposed to touch the legacy.”
