@greenpeace@mastodon.social While those are important goals I'm concerned about so-called "AI"s impact on searches. I have read about studies (citation needed) that indicate that having AI summaries returned for web searches tends to have the effect of causing users to request fewer pages of search results. It implies that these AI summaries tend to reduce web searches because people are just taking the summaries as the result. Orwell said it in 1984, you know, the part about "He who controls the past" etc.

@Endof10 so I am one with no path forward after win 10 ends support. I have a couple of possible options, opinions anyone? 1) Switch to Linux mint and take my chances for gaming with windows emulation, or, 2) dual boot win 10 and Linux mint, or, 3) install Linux mint and run win 10 in a virtual machine, or, 4) install Linux mint and buy a steam deck, hoping that all of my retro gaming can be accommodated.
