fun fact, in sweden we traditionally have no polite form and the correct way to politely refer to people is by their title, the german equivalent of "sie" is basically like calling someone a vagabond
if you don't know their title, you cannot refer to them, so a waitress must for example say something like "will there be coffee?"
this system was so cumbersome that we gave up and started referring to everyone by "you" instead
