so for context, im american, my girlfriend is new zealand american, and her family imports this yeast spread sold in new zealand called marmite, it's also known in australia as vegemite, this stuff has a very bitter and salty taste, and almost everyone outside australia and new zealand despise this stuff, including americans like myself. alot of americans try it by eating a spoonful like its a jar of peanut butter or something, when you're not supposed to do that, you thinly spread it on toast and you don't use too much, like wasabi. here's the funny thing, i think it tastes really good as a spoonful, and alot of people call me crazy and a freak over it, her mom thinks im crazy for it. i don't know what to tell you, i love salt.
