Currently expanding a (C++) data structure to deal with larger amounts of data, and I now have the perfect example for why overflows are an error in Swift and have to be explicitly requested.

Related: No surprise a data transfer never ends if it keeps sending the first 64k of the data over and over again instead of the whole Megabyte.

@jensimmons@front-end.social Might be worth commenting that on Stackoverflow and Reddit under every related post 😀 That said, there was that time when everyone said “they don’t have that feature" about an app I worked on and competitors advertised their half-assed solution with "we have a great feature X”. Fixed it within a day when I realized I had introduced a bug that made that feature be very broken, but fortunately it only looked 99% like the default when you don't have it at all. 😅

@fixatedpersonsunit @me_ For a while polarized sunglasses were that. The ad display panels at lots of bus stops were polarized the same way as sunglasses, so showed up empty. Sadly ad companies caught on to that.

@aral@mastodon.ar.al I am always reminded of the fun Twitter client you did a talk about at NSConf when you post about accessibility. Both because I loved it (and how you presented it) and because I found out years later that screen readers really don’t like these “special” letters. It’s a great reminder to me.
