Allegedly my great (maybe great great, I don't know) grandmother tried to murder her husband by putting rat poison in his morning coffee. I don't know if the forensics back then would have been able to identify that, but fortunately it didn't matter because apparently rat poison floats. I was never told what happened to her, though.

In the spirit of heeding your username, I shall engage. In markdown, if you use a single asterisk it doesn't mean much unless it's part of a list. However, if you use two, it will italicize the text between them. Britain, for example, would bring Br*ta*n because the T and A (yes, I'm aware of the abbreviation) would be between them. edit: Seven days later, I saw this post again. I realize now you weren't talking about the formatting but how many instances of the offending character to replace, like non global stream editing or sort of like ƒ.

I don’t put seeds on mine, but they seem like sesame seeds. What were you picturing? The rolls are: https://www.pillsbury.com/products/crescents/original I wouldn’t call them sweet, but from what I understand the UK and US have very different definitions of that taste, so you might. edit: That might actually just be salt. Pretty sure it’s sesame though.

I’ve never had lobster roll - or indeed lobster - but from the name I imagined it to be lobster rolled up in something like a pig in a blanket (though I’ve heard that varies from place to place as well; my variant is just a hot dog rolled up in a croissant). I was pretty disappointed the first time someone around me ordered one and it was just lobster in a roll … Though I admit it makes sense.

When I moved to my current house, my wife and kid were at our previous house for a while. I deliberately chose this house for its isolation, so for a while the only people I really spoke to were local cashiers every few days. (Side note: my kid was three at the time and had left a toy triceratops on the back of one of the commodes the day we signed for the house. I never thought a toilet would make me miss someone so much.) Anyway, I work remotely and had a daily virtual meeting. Most days, that meeting was the first and last time I spoke. I also had some kind of long lived sinus infection going on, so not only did I speak pretty rarely, until I opened my mouth I wasn’t even sure if I’d have a voice that day.

My dad grew up in Ohio, so when he was alive we would go there annually for a family reunion and, in the days surrounding the reunion, just kind of wander the surrounding areas. My introduction to Magic: The Gathering was stepping into a thrift shop in Akron and discovering the entire (at the time) collection of books in a box for … I don’t remember the exact price, but an eminently affordable cost. I don’t much care for the game, but I definitely enjoyed working my way through the book series.
