Wednesday: Drone operators from the 1st Azov Corps took the port of Mariupol out of commission by striking key infrastructure. During the operation, power substations, radar installations, repair facilities, the port control tower, fuel tanks, tugboats, and the sanctioned cargo ship Lady Augusta were hit. As a result, the port cannot serve Russian military logistics, at least temporarily. And this also happened:

- Six people were killed and 60 wounded in Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory over the past day; Kharkiv was targeted for the second day in a row. According to the air force, Russia launched 207 drones, 181 of which were shot down. At least 21 drones struck 14 locations, with debris impacts recorded at 13 of them.
- The Vtorovo oil pumping station was hit. Located in Russia’s Vladimir Oblast, Vtorovo is a key logistics hub for fuel that supplies the Moscow Oblast and is part of the pipeline network transporting diesel fuel to the Baltic export terminal in Primorsk.
- Ukraine has struck the VNIIR-Progress plant in Cheboksary again, marking the second strike on the facility in 48 hours. Thick black smoke billowed over the city after an FP-5 Flamingo missile struck the facility, which manufactures GNSS modules for Shahed drones, Kalibr missiles, and UMPK glide bombs.
- Russia is recruiting young Ukrainian girls to help kill Ukrainian soldiers. According to the head of the Ukrainian National Police, Russian recruiters are targeting minors, promising them easy money and forcing them to form relationships with soldiers. They then mail them poison to be used to poison the soldiers.
- Russia has threatened Canada with a “proportionate response” for supporting Ukraine. Moscow has accused Ottawa of “inciting war” due to its ongoing military aid to Kyiv and has vowed to include Canadian defense-related facilities in its military planning.
- Russia is modernizing its Kalibr missiles and equipping them with cluster warheads. Furthermore, following an unsuccessful attempt to switch to domestically produced components, it is returning to the use of imported microchips.
- A Russian drone struck a three-story residential building in Kharkiv in broad daylight, injuring two people and causing extensive damage to the upper floors of the building.
- Ukraine and Latvia, a NATO member state, have signed an agreement on unmanned aerial vehicles with the aim of expanding cooperation in the fields of drones and air defense.
- A Russian tanker from the WEST Horizon shadow fleet (IMO number: 9337327) was struck in the Black Sea. The ship's propeller and rudder were damaged.
- Russian propagandist Candace Owens has called on Americans to visit Russia, claiming that everything they have ever been told about the country is a “lie.”
- Ukrainian drones struck again, severely damaging an oil refinery in Novokuybyshevsk.
- Early this morning, Ukraine struck the bridge leading from Henichesk to the Arabat Peninsula.
- The bridge in Chongar was completely destroyed.

Tuesday: Ukrainians carried out a successful bombing attack on another Russian officer right on the streets of Moscow. He was killed instantly when his car exploded. According to Russian media outlets, he was a lieutenant general, but his exact identity remains the subject of speculation. Later reports indicated that a second explosion had occurred. Details will likely be known later. And this also happened:

- A participant in Putin’s “special military operation” killed his ex-wife and seven-year-old daughter in Yekaterinburg and has now been convicted of the crime. The incident took place in August 2023. During an argument, Artem Bučin strangled his ex-wife. When their seven-year-old daughter from a previous marriage ran in, he strangled her as well. He then raped the dead bodies. Bučin had previously been convicted in 2022 of the murder and rape of nurse Tatiana Rekutina. At that time, he was sentenced to 20 years, but Putin granted him a pardon in exchange for his agreement to participate in the war against Ukraine.
- According to new reports, on June 5, Ukraine launched an attack using 25 attack drones against a base of Russia’s 90th Engineer Regiment in the occupied town of Pionerske in the Donetsk region. Three Russian soldiers were killed, five were wounded, and one major is listed as missing. Engineering equipment, ammunition, and several vehicles were also lost.
- Bulgaria is halting arms deliveries to Kyiv. The new government, considered one of the most pro-Russian in the European Union, has stated that the reason is that “Russia cannot be defeated on the battlefield.” The country is also calling for the lifting of EU sanctions against Russia, arguing that they “are damaging the European economy.”
- According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukraine liberated more territory in May than Russia managed to occupy. Russian forces occupied or advanced into an area of approximately 40 square kilometers, but lost control of nearly 280 square kilometers.
- Germany will allocate an additional 300 million euros for the purchase of ammunition as part of the Czech ammunition initiative. According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, this will enable the delivery of an additional 50,000 long-range artillery shells to Ukraine.
- The Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM), a state-run polling agency, has stopped publishing President Vladimir Putin’s approval ratings after they fell to their lowest level.
- Ukrainians struck the bridge near Chongar in northern Crimea again, just a few hours after the occupying administration announced that traffic had been restored on the bridge. Reportedly, about twenty drones struck the bridge.
- Ukraine has released the names of ten Russian soldiers who are using drones to target civilians in Kherson. All of them have been charged in absentia with carrying out targeted attacks on civilians, ambulances, and firefighters.
- Early this morning, Russian forces dropped three FAB-250 guided bombs on the outskirts of Slavyansk, damaging at least 54 homes and several vehicles.
- The damage caused to Russia by Western sanctions is estimated at $1.5 trillion. Meanwhile, the European Union is working on a new package of measures.
- Ukrainian student Iryna Zabudko died today in the hospital from injuries she sustained during the Russian attack on Kyiv on June 2.
- Ukrainian intelligence has released another previously unseen video showing its drones destroying another Russian warship.
- The ninth group of volunteers from the Ukrainian Legion in Poland will sign contracts with the army on June 26.
- The European Commission has proposed banning entry into the EU for all individuals involved in the war against Ukraine.

Monday: As is customary, Russia attempted to influence the elections in Armenia using “troll farms.” However, it failed once again, and the current prime minister’s party received nearly 50% of the vote, securing him a comfortable majority in parliament. The pro-Russian “Strong Armenia” party finished in second place with approximately 23% of the vote. Russia subsequently accused Armenia of “gross violations of democratic procedures,” with Zakharova claiming that the elections took place under pressure from the West and that Armenian authorities allegedly carried out repression against the opposition and its supporters. And this also happened:

- Russian forces repeatedly targeted Ukrainian emergency responders in the Sumy region on Sunday. The State Emergency Service reported that firefighters came under attack while responding to an incident in the village of Hlukhiv, where Russian forces also struck a fire truck during the ongoing rescue operation.
- The Russian “Rassvet” satellite constellation, which the Kremlin is promoting as a domestic alternative to Starlink, has suffered its first major setback. One of the 16 satellites launched in March failed to reach its operational orbit and burned up in the atmosphere less than three months after launch.
- Ukraine foiled a Russian attempt to assassinate a senior military intelligence official. Ukrainian police arrested a 38-year-old resident of Kyiv who had been hired by Russian intelligence services to kill Andriy Yusov, a deputy director of Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Directorate (HUR).
- Russian troops are being forced to retreat en masse from their positions on the so-called Kinburn Spit south of the Dnieper Delta due to difficulties in supplying food and ammunition caused by ongoing Ukrainian drone attacks on local logistics routes.
- A nighttime attack by a Ukrainian drone struck a railway substation in the occupied town of Hvardijske in Crimea. The attack reportedly caused a partial power outage, disrupting the electricity supply to the railway complex.
- A massive explosion rocked Belgorod, the regional capital of Russia. Given that subsequent secondary explosions were heard, it was likely an ammunition depot—and a fairly large one at that.
- Ukraine struck the Protasovo airfield near Ryazan, which houses a production and training center for unmanned aerial vehicles. The facility was expected to produce 5,000 unmanned aerial vehicles per month.
- A Russian attack struck another Nova Pošta sorting center in Kharkiv, causing significant damage and sparking a fire that gradually spread over an area of approximately 1,000 square meters.
- An explosion occurred at the "Arsenal Factory" in St. Petersburg, Russia, which manufactures a wide range of products for the Russian military, such as components for missile technology and artillery systems.
- During a secret meeting, Zelenskyy asked Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich to convey a message to Putin: that Ukraine will never give up the Donbas and that Zelenskyy wants to meet with him.
- NATO has announced the launch of the large-scale military exercise Ramstein Flag 2026. The main host countries for this exercise will be Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
- Latvia shot down a drone that entered its airspace for the first time. The drone was reportedly Ukrainian and had been diverted off course by Russian electronic warfare systems.
- The Russians struck a bus stop in Zaporizhzhia in broad daylight. At least two people were killed and 10 others were injured.
- Drone operators struck the Grushovaya oil transshipment terminal in Novorossiysk, in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, during the night.
- During Russia's nighttime airstrike on Ukraine, another drone crashed in Moldova and exploded on impact.
- On Friday, 1,569 days will have passed since the start of the war in Ukraine—which is longer than World War I lasted.

Sunday: Russia is once again reviving its oft-repeated propaganda about alleged secret NATO bases and slain Western generals and instructors. The latest version claims that during a recent massive airstrike on Kyiv, Zircon missiles “destroyed Ukrainian SBU facilities” and that “U.S. military advisers were present at one of them and were killed in the strike.” Sure! And this also happened:

- A Russian drone damaged a building at the central spent nuclear fuel storage facility in the Chernobyl exclusion zone last night. According to Energoatom, part of the building was destroyed. The strike sparked a fire covering an area of about 40 square meters, which was quickly extinguished. Fortunately, no one was injured, and radiation levels remain within normal limits.
- Ukrainian special forces struck two oil facilities in Crimea overnight using drones. Specifically, these were an oil depot in the town of Semykolodjazne, located 200 km from the front lines, and a maritime oil terminal in Feodosia, located 250 km away. Both facilities had previously supplied fuel to Russian forces.
- Overnight, Ukraine struck a bridge near Chonhar in northern Crimea on the R-280 “Novorossiya” land corridor, which runs through the Dzhankoy checkpoint into occupied Crimea, seriously damaging the bridge. Traffic through Dzhankoy has been closed, and vehicles are being rerouted to Armyansk and Perekop.
- Restrictions on fuel supplies are being tightened in Crimea. Starting today, car owners in Sevastopol can obtain a voucher for only 20 liters of fuel once every seven days per vehicle.
- Russia dropped several KAB aerial bombs near an underground school in the town of Balabyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. An adjacent bus stop was destroyed, and at least three people were killed and others were injured.
- The Belgian company Thales will manufacture 70-mm anti-drone missiles in Ukraine. It plans to produce a total of 100,000 missiles by 2028, with part of the production taking place directly in Ukraine.
- Since Friday, the Russian airport in Sochi has been fully operational for only 8 minutes. Thousands of Russians are stranded in the terminals there and cannot fly out due to ongoing attacks by Ukrainian drones.
- A Russian drone struck an electric locomotive in Zaporizhzhia. Thanks to the efforts of the monitoring teams and the timely evacuation, no one was injured. The locomotive crew was in a shelter.
- Russian sources claim that an attempt was made overnight to attack the Kerch Bridge using Neptune missiles. According to reports, the missiles were intercepted in flight and the bridge sustained no damage.
- Partisans from the ATEŠ group destroyed a rare piece of equipment in Voronezh: an EDK-300/5 rail recovery crane designed for use on railways, a model that is no longer in production.
- The Russians deliberately struck another civilian minibus in the Zaporizhzhia region using a FPV drone. The driver was killed on the spot.
- Parliamentary elections have begun in Armenia, in which voters will decide whether to align more closely with the EU or with Russia.
- Electricity supplies have been restored to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant following a prolonged outage.

Saturday: After Putin declared on television that “the Russian army is still advancing practically along the entire length of the front,” several Russian military commentators spoke out, including the former “people’s governor of the Donetsk region,” the collaborator Pavel Gubarev. He stated that Putin is completely out of touch with the reality on the front lines. According to Gubarev, not only is the Russian army not advancing anywhere, but it has reportedly been retreating in most key areas over the past few weeks. Analysts at the ISW say the same thing: “Putin’s claims regarding developments on the battlefield contradict available evidence and suggest that the Russian military command is not providing him with accurate intelligence regarding the actual progress of Russian operations on the battlefield. The Russian advance has largely stalled in 2026, while Ukrainian forces have achieved several tactical successes.” And I say: don’t take that away from him. Let him continue to live in that delusion. Because one of the rules of warfare is: Don’t interrupt the enemy when he’s making a mistake. And this is also happening:

- According to the Wall Street Journal, Ukrainian drone operators are now obtaining satellite imagery from the U.S. commercial provider Vantor within 15 minutes of placing an order. The technology has reportedly cut the time between target detection and strike by 90%, enabling more effective attacks on Russian positions.
- Russian forces attacked two ships belonging to the Maritime Search and Rescue Service that were carrying out a humanitarian mission in the Ukrainian maritime corridor. Several people on board were injured in the attack. They are currently being evacuated by Ukrainian Navy vessels.
- The Ukrainian SBU struck the 15th Naval Armory in the Leningrad Region and an oil depot in Ust-Labinsk. A fire broke out in the ammunition depot, followed by secondary explosions, likely caused by destroyed missiles. Three fuel tanks are on fire at the oil depot.
- A military blogger was interviewed on Russian television, leading to a rare moment of candor: “The situation on the front lines is such that we have 17 drones per kilometer, while the Ukrainians have 10 drones for every one of our advancing assault troops.”
- NATO member states are considering providing Ukraine with new military aid worth 70 billion euros. This announcement is expected to be made during the Alliance’s summit in Ankara on July 7–8.
- The Russians have restricted passenger traffic on the R-150 and R-280 highways heading toward the temporarily occupied territories. In addition, commuter train service has been suspended in the occupied Luhansk region.
- Exactly three years ago, Russia destroyed the dam at Kakhovka. At least 34 people were killed and 80 villages were flooded. The damage exceeded $11 billion.
- Fifteen people were killed and more than 70 were injured in Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian territory over the past day. Ukrainian forces shot down 249 of the 272 drones.
- Drones operated by Ukrainian special forces carried out another attack on the Kronstadt naval base of the Russian Baltic Fleet in St. Petersburg.
- A Turkish fishing vessel was struck in the Black Sea near Sevastopol—one person was killed and four others were injured.
- A Swedish court has ruled that the seized ship linked to the stolen Ukrainian grain may be handed over to Kyiv.
- Russia is demanding special rights for the Russian-speaking population as a condition for ending the war.
- Ukraine has apologized to Greece for the incident involving the naval drone.
- A fire is raging at a Russian oil refinery in Tyumen.

Friday: Zelenskyy wrote an open letter to Putin (here in a slightly abridged version): “When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine had a positive view of you. That is now a thing of the past. Today, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view positively the fact that our long-range drones ‘visited’ the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg. As you well know, this distance is not the limit of our capabilities. But now we all see that it is finally becoming unbearable for the Russians—that the war is bringing Russia more and more negative consequences. They don’t like our drones and missiles. They don’t like the fuel shortages and constantly rising prices. They don’t like the ongoing sanctions. They don’t like your plan to launch a second wave of mobilization to expand the war in another direction in Ukraine or to direct it against other neighboring countries. They don’t like that your war has no end. Yes, you can still force the Russians to live this way. But your resources are dwindling significantly. You cannot fail to notice this. The longer this goes on, the more fatigue will grow—even among you. It’s not that we in Ukraine are worried about the Russians—after all your war has brought upon Ukraine. But I care about Ukrainians. We are losing our people, and every loss is painful. And even though Ukrainian losses are one to five or one to six compared to Russian losses, it still matters greatly. Ukraine is maintaining its independence. And it will maintain it—despite any predictions. We brought the war to your territory, and without North Korea’s help, you wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it. You are the first Russian leader who had to turn to Pyongyang for help. And today you are completely dependent on China—which is also a first in Russian history. The choice is now yours. Stop the war. Ukraine is offering to end this war. I propose a meeting. The front line is now the line from which diplomacy should begin. Ukraine is ready for an “all for all” prisoner exchange, and that could serve as a good prologue to ending the war. Unless you personally come to the conclusion that this war must end, Ukraine will continue to fight for its very existence. We will have those who support us. But you will have to fight much harder for your own existence—not for the existence of Russia, but for your own. And that is not a threat from me or from Ukraine. These are facts from Russian history: when Russia grows weary, changes occur. We can work on that weariness. You can stop your war. Eternal memory to all who have lost their lives in this war. Glory to Ukraine.” And this also happened:

- The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill providing military aid to Ukraine by a vote of 226 to 205. Eighteen Republicans even voted in favor of the bill. The bill provides for loans to Ukraine of up to $8 billion and paves the way for tariffs of up to 500% on certain Russian goods. The bill was approved despite calls from Republican leaders to vote against it, on the grounds that it could jeopardize a “peace proposal that has long been on the table.” In reality, no concrete proposal is on the table, and the U.S. recently withdrew from further negotiations.
- Putin stated that the Oreshnik missile had never actually been used in combat against Ukraine. He now claims that the strike was carried out at a location where it was possible to thoroughly test how the warheads would impact. In doing so, he slightly undermined the narratives of Russian propaganda, which had been desperately trying to convince viewers that the garages that were hit were actually secret bases and weapons depots.
- In a live address, Putin stated that “in recent times alone, approximately 2.44 million square kilometers of Ukrainian territory have come under Russian control.” For context: Ukraine’s total area is only about 604,000 km². Later, the Kremlin quietly corrected the figure: the word “million” disappeared from the official transcript, leaving only 2,440 km².
- Submunitions from Iskander missiles are increasingly failing to explode immediately upon impact, but only 20–30 minutes later. And all indications suggest that this is not a malfunction, but intentional. The Russians’ likely objective is to kill rescue workers, medical personnel, and civilians who are arriving at the scene or participating in evacuation efforts.
- Gasoline sales in Crimea have been completely halted: only fuel vouchers are being accepted, though their sale has been suspended indefinitely. People have also been warned that posting videos showing fuel tankers—even those on fire—could result in up to 20 years in prison.
- Russia has ordered fuel to be delivered to the front lines using ambulances, bakery delivery vans, and postal vehicles after Ukrainian strikes destroyed a fleet of tankers on the P-280 supply corridor. The use of ambulances for military logistics violates the Geneva Conventions.
- Russian drones struck the "Yagotynske for Children" factory in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. Four employees were killed in the attack. The factory produces special milk, yogurt, butter, and other dairy products for children aged 6 months to 3 years.
- Kyiv wants the EU to lift temporary protection for men of military age. European Commissioner for Migration Magnus Brunner confirmed that the EU is considering the possibility of excluding Ukrainian men aged 23 to 60 from the temporary protection scheme.
- Five Azerbaijani crew members were killed in a nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones on two grain carriers, the Natra and the Zircon, in the Sea of Azov. Both ships were sailing under foreign flags to a Russian port to load grain.
- According to Politico, the Pentagon is considering scrapping plans to deploy long-range Tomahawk missiles in Germany. The U.S. is reportedly citing concerns about Moscow’s reaction as well as dwindling U.S. stockpiles of such weapons.
- An explosion occurred this morning at a postal sorting facility in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv. The incident took place while one of the packages was being inspected. A 59-year-old man was killed in the explosion, and two other people, aged 37 and 41, were injured.
- NATO's annual naval exercises have begun in the Baltic Sea. The BALTOPS 2026 exercises, led by the U.S. 6th Fleet, will continue near the Russian border until June 19.
- A Ukrainian naval drone named Magura strayed into the Romanian port of Constanța. Authorities evacuated the port and then, in cooperation with Ukrainian officials, safely detonated the drone.
- The European Union is preparing a €50 million financial aid package for Armenia to help the country weather the new Russian sanctions.
- Ukraine and Russia have carried out another prisoner exchange. A total of 185 Ukrainian soldiers and one civilian have returned home.
- Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin warned of a "high probability" of a future conflict with the West.
- Hungary has lifted its veto on €6.6 billion in military aid to Ukraine.

Thursday: At the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, attendees were presented with various scenarios for Russia’s future development, jointly prepared by Russian oligarch Malofeyev and Kremlin ideologue Dugin. Their “positive” scenario envisions the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of Ukraine as a state. This scenario also includes the conquest of Odessa, Kyiv, and Kharkiv, the collapse of the EU, and Russia becoming a global leader in security technology by 2050. Yeah, right. In the “negative” scenario, by contrast, Russia is described as a collapsing country that will suffer defeat in the war with Ukraine by 2036 and, by 2050, will become dependent on other superpowers or even be colonized by its neighbors. All of this was discussed on the main stage with serious expressions, while Ukrainian drones were attacking St. Petersburg directly. The lecture demonstrates just how detached the Russians are from the economic, political, and military realities of Putin’s Russia today. For if Russia were to actually use nuclear weapons against Ukraine out of desperation (there is no other way to describe it), it would certainly not become a world leader, but would instead cease to exist. No other major global player, not even China, would allow such a move. But there’s more going on here:

- Russia is demanding €47.2 million from the Rheinmetall defense contractor for breach of contract. The case concerns a 2011 agreement. Under the agreement, Rheinmetall was to build a training center in Russia and supply equipment for military training. Following the annexation of Crimea and the start of the war in Donbas, Germany halted arms exports to Russia and revoked the permit for the project. As a result, construction was never completed.
- France has arrested the Russian captain of the oil tanker Tagor, which was detained in the Atlantic on suspicion of sailing under a false Cameroonian flag and transporting oil from Russia or Iran that is subject to sanctions.
- The Russians boasted that a representative from the United States had also traveled to the economic forum in St. Petersburg. However, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated that the U.S. had not sent anyone and that he had no idea who this American was.
- Russian media have estimated that Ukraine has spent approximately $3.5 billion on all offensive drones over the past three years. By comparison, a single large-scale Russian missile strike on Ukraine costs around $1 billion.
- A Russian Project 10410 Svetlyak-class patrol boat was struck near the town of Yurkin in occupied Crimea. The attack was carried out by an FP-2 attack drone, which was guided to the target by a pilot from the 1st Independent Center of the USF.
- Hungarian authorities claim that Orbán himself ordered the detention of the Ukrainian convoy carrying bank cash and personally oversaw the entire operation. This was reportedly in retaliation for the halting of oil flows through the Druzhba pipeline.
- Russia launched 293 drones, 264 of which were intercepted by air defenses. At least 24 drones struck 11 locations, while debris from downed drones was found at 12 locations.
- Russian aviation channels reported an attack by Ukrainian kamikaze drones on reinforced concrete hangars at a military airfield within the Russian Federation.
- At least 12 people were injured after Russia carried out more than 50 strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region, causing a massive fire to break out at a civilian warehouse complex.
- Greece issued an official diplomatic note to Ukraine after a stray naval drone packed with explosives was found in its waters.
- The Russian messaging app MAX was removed from the App Store after Cloudflare labeled it a spy app.
- “Ukrainian ballistics will be heading to Moscow this summer,” said Fire Point co-founder Štylerman.
- Sweden has detained a ship suspected of illegally exporting Ukrainian grain from Russian-occupied territories.
- Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has killed 707 children in Ukraine and injured another 2,548.
- According to the IAEA, a "major attack" struck the thermal power plant in Zaporizhzhia.

Wednesday: The annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2026, subtitled “St. Petersburg, Capital of Drone Technology,” kicked off today in St. Petersburg, Russia. Somewhat surprisingly, however, it was the Ukrainians who provided the opening act. To the surprise of locals, their drones struck several strategically important targets across St. Petersburg today. For example, a major fire broke out following an airstrike at a local oil products warehouse. The Russian Stěreguščij-class multipurpose corvette “Bojkij” also sustained several hits while undergoing repairs in the dry dock at the Kronstadt naval base. As a result, thick black smoke from several different fires has been billowing over the city since morning. And on top of that, this is happening:

- Reuters reported that Russia plans to send about 100,000 Armenians living in Russia to Armenia to vote against Pashinyan in the parliamentary elections. His popularity, however, remains very high. In return, Armenia has promised to send pro-Russian voters brought in from Russia to military training. This was stated by Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan.
- Russian occupation authorities in the Luhansk region have limited gasoline sales at gas stations to 20 liters per person. In Crimea, fuel sales were temporarily suspended overnight, with only emergency services and the military allowed to refuel. Restrictions on fuel purchases are now also in effect in St. Petersburg, Ryazan, Kursk, and Belgorod.
- Veronika, a 29-year-old mother of two young boys, was killed in yesterday’s attack on Kyiv. The missile struck just as everyone was running for shelter. An unknown man carried one of the boys to the shelter, thereby saving the child’s life. The younger of the two boys was injured and later had to undergo surgery.
- The new “Volga” was unveiled at the SPIEF forum. There’s just one small catch—it’s actually the Chinese Geely Monjaro, which the Russians have slapped their own logo on, nearly tripled the price, and called a revival of the domestic auto industry.
- Hungary has lifted its two-year veto on the reimbursement of arms costs within the EU, immediately freeing up 6.6 billion euros for overdue payments to arms suppliers to Ukraine.
- Russian truck drivers are now demanding a full month's salary to transport cargo across the land bridge to Crimea, due to the risk posed by Ukrainian drones.
- Yesterday, Ukraine struck Russian military targets in occupied Crimea and the Donetsk region, including two Pantsir air defense systems and a command post.
- At least 84 bomb threats were received yesterday by schools and kindergartens across Estonia. The threats likely originated in Russia.
- More than 1,000 U.S. troops are leaving Lithuania after completing their rotation, and no replacements are currently planned.
- A Russian drone attempted to kill firefighters as they were putting out a fire at a gas station in Zaporizhzhia. Fortunately, they managed to take cover in time.
- Ukrainian drones struck the Russian Progres arms factory in Tambov, 600 km away.
- NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has arrived in Kyiv.

Tuesday: The Russians launched a large-scale airstrike on Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 642 out of 729 aerial targets: 0 out of 8 Zircon anti-ship missiles; 11 out of 33 Iskander-M ballistic missiles; 26 out of 27 Kh-101 guided missiles; 3 out of 5 Kalibr guided missiles; 602 out of 656 attack drones. Strikes by 30 ballistic missiles, 3 guided missiles, and 33 drones were recorded at 38 locations, as well as the crash of downed drones at another 15 locations. Dozens of civilian homes sustained damage. The death toll from the Russian airstrike on Dnipro has risen to 16. Among them is a two-year-old girl whom firefighters found dead in the rubble of a house, as well as a rescue worker who died in a double strike while helping victims of the first wave of the attack. In addition, another 42 people were injured, including 4 children. Three of the children are in the hospital, as are 21 adults. Six people were killed and at least 80 were injured in the airstrike on Kyiv. Other cities are also reporting injuries. And this also happened:

- Russia is likely transporting large numbers of North Korean soldiers and military equipment by air to the front lines in Ukraine. Over the past three days, radar has detected at least 10 flights involving AN-148 military transport aircraft and 11 flights involving Il-76MD aircraft from Vladivostok to the southeastern tip of Russia.
- Russia's FSB claims that a large-scale cyberespionage operation was carried out against Russian officials, in which foreign intelligence services infected mobile phones with spyware. The malware was reportedly capable of eavesdropping on calls and collecting data from the compromised devices.
- Bloomberg sources inside Russia report that officials from the Russian Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank have warned the Kremlin that, given the current level of planned defense spending, there is a risk of a dangerous increase in the federal budget deficit.
- Putin continues to impose strict sanctions and exert pressure on Armenia. As of June 2, Russia has banned imports of Armenian cherries, sour cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, and grapes.
- The SBU detained an agent who helped coordinate the Russian airstrike on Dnipro. It turned out that he was a former soldier with a Russian passport whom the Russians had recruited to work with them.
- Putin extended Maria Lvova-Belova’s term by another five years. Meanwhile, the International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for this Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights.
- Serhiy “Flash,” an adviser to the defense minister, said that current intelligence reports indicate troop movements and the construction of fortifications and roads in Belarus near the border with Ukraine.
- In the town of Dzhankoy in occupied Crimea, Ukrainian drones struck a locomotive parked at the train station. As a result, the tracks there are impassable.
- This morning, the Ukrainian Air Force struck the village of Alekseevka in the Belgorod region. Following the attack, a fire broke out at the premises of the Russian company "Melzavod EGA."
- According to preliminary reports, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil refinery in Ilsk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai.
- Andrew Tate, a controversial “influencer” in the so-called “manosphere,” arrived in St. Petersburg to participate in Russian propaganda.
- Russian journalist Mikhail Axel was accused of “discrediting the military” for criticizing Shoigu in 2023.
- The Pentagon designated its press office as a classified facility and barred journalists from entering it.
- Putin will deliver a "major speech" on June 5.

Monday: Today marks the first anniversary of the SBU’s special operation “Spider’s Web,” during which 41 Russian aircraft were damaged, including Tu-95, Tu-22M3, and Tu-160 strategic bombers, as well as A-50 aircraft. The total damage caused at the time was estimated to exceed $7 billion. The full extent of the damage to Russian self-confidence and the image of “invincible Russia” is still being assessed today. But back to the news:

- Overnight, the Russians launched drone attacks on Odessa and Kharkiv, once again targeting residential areas. In Odessa, a Russian drone struck a nine-story apartment building, partially destroying the first and second floors and damaging the facade and balconies. A fire broke out following the strike, which was later extinguished. Another non-residential building also caught fire. Four people were injured, two of whom are currently hospitalized. In the Osnovyanskyi district of Kharkiv, two people were injured after a Russian drone strike damaged a five-story residential building, nearby apartment buildings, a vehicle, and several garages. Two garages were completely destroyed. Another “Molnija”-type drone struck the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv, damaging three single-family homes.
- The Russians also carried out an airstrike on the maternity ward of a hospital in Odessa. At the time of the attack, there were six new mothers with their newborns in the ward, and one woman was in the process of giving birth. Neither the patients nor the staff were injured. The attack damaged the hospital’s facade, doors, and more than 30 windows. Cleanup efforts are currently underway on the premises.
- The Ukrainian Air Force carried out a successful airstrike on a base belonging to the Russian Armed Forces’ 126th Brigade in Perevalne, Crimea. According to reports, the attack—which involved two missiles and two drones—hit the barracks and the mess hall. Fifteen Russians were killed and another 26 were wounded.
- Nursultan Mussagalejev, whom Ukrainian investigators accuse of kidnapping, torturing, and executing a civilian in Bucha, has won the United Russia party’s primary and is expected to run for the State Duma.
- There are currently several Americans—Russian propagandists—in Russia, including the well-known “political commentator” Candace Owens, who are attempting to portray Russia in a positive light to Western audiences.
- Poland has approved defense contracts worth over 33 billion euros for military equipment to be manufactured domestically as part of a large-scale, ongoing military modernization program.
- On the eve of the Armenian parliamentary elections, scheduled for June 7, pro-Russian groups on Telegram are organizing the transport of voters living in Russia to Armenia.
- On May 31, the Romanian Ministry of Defense confirmed that it was a Russian Geran-2 (Shahed) drone that struck a residential building in Galați on the night of May 29–30.
- A Ukrainian drone struck a Russian cargo ship in Berdyansk. The attack on the ship is part of efforts to disrupt Russian supply routes on the southern front.
- French forces detained the Tagor, a tanker subject to sanctions, in the Atlantic as it was sailing from Russia.
- In May, the Russians launched around 7,000 attacks along the front, capturing a net total of just 14 km².
- Crimea is introducing a fuel rationing system due to the crisis caused by Ukrainian airstrikes.
- Russia has imposed a temporary ban on the export of kerosene (jet fuel) through November 30, 2026.

Sunday: During overnight attacks on targets in Russia, the Lazarevo pumping station in the Kirov region—located 1,200 km from Ukraine—was struck. The station is a key facility for pumping Siberian oil to central Russia. The local governor urged residents not to post any images on social media. Ukrainian drones also successfully struck an oil refinery in Saratov in several waves. The entire complex was engulfed in flames early this morning. An oil storage facility in Matveyev Kurgan in the Rostov region and a fuel depot in occupied Vuhlehirsk were also hit. And this is also happening:

- U.S. Representative Jim Himes: “Lavrov’s threats against diplomats in Kyiv have three dimensions. First, they are an expression of utter desperation. Overall, the Russians are losing territory in Ukraine. And the price they are paying for it is staggering. Russian citizens must realize what is being asked of them—to sacrifice their own blood and their own sons for that mad dictator—just so that Russia can continue to retreat. Second, it is an admission of the mindset of a man who is not afraid to commit war crimes. Threatening civilians and diplomats is clear evidence of how readily the Russians commit war crimes: they attack hospitals, maternity wards, and non-governmental organizations trying to deliver aid to communities along the front lines. And third, I will return to Washington with Senator Blumenthal to ensure that Lavrov’s threats result in additional resources being provided to the Ukrainian people, because everything Lavrov represents is exactly what free people must fight against.”
- The United States and China have suspended part of their contributions to the UN, causing a significant budget deficit for the organization. The U.S. arrears exceed $4 billion. Furthermore, following criticism of the organization’s spending and accusations of inefficiency, Washington has withdrawn from several UN programs and other bodies, including the World Health Organization (WHO). According to the Wall Street Journal, China is also withholding payments, despite its claims that it is a key supporter of the UN system.
- According to Russian officials, a drone breached the reactor wall at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. According to Alexei Likhachev, head of the Rosatom agency, the drone allegedly struck the turbine hall of Unit 6. Representatives of the power plant stated that the main equipment was not damaged, radiation levels remain within normal limits, and no disruptions to operational processes have been recorded. Ukraine denies the attack and claims that there is no evidence to suggest that such an attack took place at all.
- The data showed that an Irish alumina plant exports more products to Russia than the government had originally claimed. The Irish prime minister stated that including Aughinish Alumina in the next round of EU sanctions would hurt Europe more than Russia, but the facts suggest otherwise.
- Five people were killed and 37 wounded in Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian territory over the past day, with the highest number of casualties occurring in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Russia launched a total of 229 drones, 212 of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
- During a recent airstrike on Kyiv, Russia deliberately attempted to paralyze the 101 and 112 emergency hotlines. According to DSNS Chief Andriy Danyk, the equipment at the operations centers was targeted in order to cripple the response to ongoing emergencies.
- Several senior officials from the German party Alternative for Germany (AfD), including members of the Bundestag and the European Parliament, will attend the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.
- Astana and Beijing are accelerating the development of a Trans-Caspian route to Europe that bypasses Russia. The corridor will transport goods from China through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
- A Ukrainian airstrike hit a training center used by Russia’s 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, one of the units responsible for the 2022 massacre in Bucha.
- The U.S. is reportedly considering backing Viktor Orbán’s candidacy for a high-level position at the UN, which would grant him diplomatic immunity and a job based in New York.
- Italy is preparing to send approximately 100 troops and several fighter jets to Romania in response to a recent incident involving a Russian drone.
- Japan is purchasing over $14 million worth of military equipment for Ukraine as part of a NATO arms program.

Saturday: Last night, the Ukrainians carried out a successful airstrike on several targets in Taganrog, in the Rostov region. The local port and a military airfield were hit. As a result, two Russian Tu-142 “Bear” strategic bombers, an Iskander missile launcher, an oil tanker, a fuel depot, and part of the port infrastructure were destroyed. Just a good start to the day. And this also happened:

- Putin is demanding that the wreckage of the drone that crashed in Romania be handed over to Russia, and is also demanding the names of those who claimed it was a Russian drone. According to Putin, the drone’s origin can only be determined after a proper investigation, and the wreckage should be handed over to Russia for examination. In reality, Russia and Ukraine use completely different types of drones, so their origin can be determined almost immediately.
- The DeepState portal reports that Ukrainian forces have liberated the area near Novoselivka and advanced through a number of settlements around Oleksandrivka, with mop-up operations currently underway in the areas of Voronne, Sichneve, Piddubne, Tovste, Novochatske, and Zelenyi Haj. As a result of these advances, Russian forces have lost at least 46 km² of territory.
- Japan is sending four military officers to NATO headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, to support Ukraine. Two of them are from the Army, and one each from the Air Force and Navy. They will help coordinate military aid, organize training for Ukrainian troops, and facilitate cooperation with partner countries.
- Ukrainian medium-range attack drones have begun deploying mines along key Russian supply routes deep behind the front lines in southern Ukraine. The mines are equipped with magnetic triggers and are designed to explode as soon as a sufficiently large vehicle passes over or near them.
- Overnight, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M missile, six Kh-101 guided missiles, and 290 drones. Air defenses shot down 284 targets, but the attacks claimed one life in Zaporizhzhia, left three people injured in Kherson after a gas pipeline was hit, and damaged homes in the Sumy region.
- Ukrainian drones struck the Lukoil refinery in Volgograd, one of the ten largest in the country, forcing it to halt production. They also struck the Yaroslavl-3 pumping station, a Transneft hub that handles oil exports to the Baltic states, causing two storage tanks to catch fire following the airstrike.
- The Lithuanian defense minister claims that without support from China, Iran, and North Korea, Russia would have long since been unable to continue the war. According to Kaunas, Moscow continues to receive dual-use goods from China, drones and missiles from Iran, and ammunition and military personnel from North Korea.
- The fuel crisis is worsening in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to car owners, while it is still possible to drive onto the peninsula in one’s own car, the only way to return is without a vehicle or on foot, as gasoline is no longer available.
- According to a survey by the Breavis agency, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan’s party could win up to 65% of the vote. Pashinyan is entering the election with a platform focused on closer ties with the EU, which is a major thorn in Russia’s side.
- At the EAEU summit in Astana, Putin compared Armenia’s efforts to join the EU to Ukraine’s efforts, warned against a “Ukrainian scenario,” and vowed to raze to the ground any country that attacks Kaliningrad.
- Satellite images have shown that during one of its airstrikes, Ukraine destroyed the FSB’s 16th Radio and Electronic Reconnaissance Center in the Krasnodar Krai (Military Unit 71330).

Friday: Russia struck two NATO countries last night. During a nighttime airstrike, one of the Russian drones strayed into Romania and crashed into an apartment building. A Turkish cargo ship was also damaged in the Black Sea. President Nicușor Dan accused Russia of the drone attack and promised to take “appropriate measures” in response. President Pavel has already expressed his support for Romania’s planned actions. NATO is convening an emergency meeting. And this is also happening:

- Reuters, citing satellite imagery and analysts, reports that China is building extensive military infrastructure near its nuclear missile forces. Construction is underway in desert regions in the country’s northwest, near intercontinental ballistic missile silos. The construction includes launch pads, bunkers, communication hubs, and auxiliary military facilities. The images show more than 80 sites that could be used to deploy mobile missile systems and air defense units. They also reveal structures that may be used for electronic warfare, satellite communications, and operational command.
- Russia is trying to put pressure on Armenia. Last week, Moscow restricted imports of goods from Armenia in nearly ten categories. The banned items include fruits, vegetables, strawberries, flowers, mineral water, cognac, and wine. Russia is also reportedly using gas supplies as leverage in case Armenia moves toward European integration. The restrictions come just days before parliamentary elections, in which the Kremlin is seeking to strengthen pro-Russian forces.
- Russian private companies will now be able to purchase large-caliber weapons and equipment for defending against drone attacks. Items now authorized for purchase include machine gun turrets, vehicles, radars, electronic warfare systems, and anti-aircraft guns.
- During a raid, Dutch police seized more than 800 servers belonging to Russian hackers at two data centers. Among those arrested is a 39-year-old Russian man—a professional pianist—who ran a shell company established just a few days before the attack on Ukraine.
- A proposal has been introduced in Russia that would allow children to work starting at age 12. Currently, in Russia, employment is permitted starting at age 14 (with parental consent), at age 15 for those who have completed their education, and at age 16 under normal conditions.
- Russian journalist Dmitry Borisenko stated during a live television broadcast: “Those who dragged our country into this war have committed a crime. In the 21st century, waging large-scale operations in which hundreds of thousands of people die is barbaric.”
- The IAEA reports a communications outage at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The plant was without landline telephone service and internet connectivity for approximately 12 hours.
- “Hungary will not supply weapons to the Russia-Ukraine conflict,” Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated during a meeting with the NATO Secretary General.
- A Russian oil refinery in Volgograd is on fire. This is at least the tenth attack on the Volgogradneftepererabotka facility since 2024.
- According to intelligence reports, the Russians are preparing a new large-scale attack on Ukrainian cities.
- An oil loading port in Russia's Krasnodar Krai was struck by Ukrainian drones overnight.

Thursday: The three-year-old girl who was injured during yesterday’s shelling of Kherson remains in critical condition. She was first taken to Mykolaiv, where she underwent initial surgery. She suffered severe blast injuries and numerous shrapnel wounds all over her body. As soon as her condition improves, she will be transferred to the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv—the same hospital that Russia also struck with a guided missile in the past. Her six-year-old sister remains in the hospital in moderate condition, as does the children’s mother, who is hospitalized in serious condition after suffering a concussion, shrapnel wounds to her arms, legs, and abdomen, and a traumatic brain injury. Their father was killed in the airstrike. The family also includes two older children, who are now in the care of social workers. And this is also happening:

- Moscow has deployed Su-35 fighter jets and anti-ship missiles to the Kuril Islands. In addition, this spring the Russians demonstrated “Kinzhal” missiles from their aircraft near Japanese waters. Tokyo is therefore seriously concerned that Russia could open a second front in the Far East and, in response, is rapidly moving its forces closer to Russia on the island of Hokkaido. In the last nine months alone, Japan has scrambled fighter jets 448 times to intercept Russian aircraft—nearly twice a day.
- According to the website Dosje Špiona, Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles struck a building used by Russia’s FSB in occupied Melitopol on the night of May 23–24. The two air-launched missiles partially destroyed the building, killing two FSB members and wounding two others. Authorities subsequently barred locals from approaching the site and from taking photographs or video footage. FSB personnel spent two days clearing debris and searching for sensitive documents.
- The pro-regime Russian singer Shaman has released a new music video titled “Russia Is Mother,” in which he used photographs of well-known Russians whom the Kremlin has labeled “foreign agents,” including journalist Yuri Dud, rapper Oxxxymiron, singer Zemfira, comedian Maxim Galkin, businessman Oleg Tinkov, and others. Thanks to animation created using artificial intelligence, the “foreign agents” sing along with him.
- NATO is rapidly establishing a separate command structure specifically for Latvia and Estonia, based on the German-Dutch model of army corps. In the event of war, this would make it possible to deploy up to 60,000 troops within a few hours—without lengthy political approval processes or bureaucratic delays.
- Three tankers from Russia’s “shadow fleet” were attacked by naval drones 2–3 km off the Turkish coast. Two drones struck the Velora tanker but did not explode. A third drone struck the JAMES II Altura, which had already been hit in March while transporting Russian oil, and damaged it again.
- On May 27, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and a third was taken to the hospital after ammunition on a reconnaissance drone exploded during preparations for a combat mission in the Khmelnytskyi region.
- The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a bizarre report claiming that Ukrainian children are being “illegally taken to the West,” where they are allegedly adopted by LGBT families.
- Ukraine will receive 16 JAS 39 Gripen C/D fighter jets from Sweden, including "Meteor" long-range air-to-air missiles. Sweden is already training Ukrainian pilots and ground crew.
- Greece has supplied the Czech Republic with M110A2, M114, and M101 howitzers, which Ukraine has likely already acquired or will acquire shortly.
- The Ukrainian government has approved a draft of a new customs code that is fully in line with European Union customs regulations.
- The United States has denied Russian disinformation claims that American diplomats are withdrawing from Kyiv.

Wednesday: On the night of and morning of May 27, Ukraine struck three Russian Air Force facilities: the Voronezh-Baltimor airbase, which houses Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers that have been attacking Ukrainian cities since February 24, 2022, the Taganrog 325 aircraft repair plant, which is Russia’s only facility for repairing large An-12 and An-72 military transport aircraft, and the Black Sea Fleet Air Force headquarters in occupied Sevastopol. British-French Storm Shadow guided missiles were likely used in the attacks on Sevastopol and Voronezh. And this also happened:

- The ISW claims that it is highly unlikely that Belarus would launch a ground invasion of Ukraine, and that the institute has not observed any concentration of Belarusian forces along the Belarus-Ukraine border that would be sufficient for a ground invasion. Russia reportedly lacks the reserves needed to support Belarusian troops in a ground invasion of Ukraine. Instead, Russia could use fabricated reports of Ukrainian drones in Belarusian airspace to justify using Belarusian territory to carry out “retaliatory” strikes against Ukraine.
- Since September 2022, the Ukrainian HUR has received more than 5,900 radar satellite images through the “People’s Satellite” project. Data from the ICEYE SAR satellite provides daily images regardless of daylight, cloud cover, or weather conditions, with a resolution of up to 0.25 m per pixel and a coverage area of up to 225 km² per image. HUR reports that the satellite helps identify Russian military targets, plan strikes, and assess damage.
- Ukrainian soldiers have warned their comrades on the front lines to keep their gas masks ready. Reports indicate that there has been a resurgence in cases where the Russians are using chemical weapons against Ukrainian fortifications. Victims describe a drone exploding in the air above the trenches, followed by a caramel-like taste in their mouths and then loss of consciousness.
- Ukraine has charged Bosnian Serb Colonel Davor Savičić with war crimes committed in the Kyiv region, where he allegedly held a civilian captive in a pit for seven days in sub-freezing temperatures. Savičić served with Arkan’s Tigers in the 1990s and later under Russian command in the Donbas.
- The Russians recently claimed to have captured the village of Vozdvyzhivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. In reality, several Russian reconnaissance soldiers infiltrated the village behind enemy lines, but they were subsequently killed by Ukrainian troops, while several others were taken prisoner, as evidenced by videos that have been released.
- Half of the countries withdrew from the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine after the Czech Republic stopped contributing to the initiative and Babiš announced that he wanted someone other than the Czech Republic to coordinate it.
- European leaders believe that the Kremlin will need the conflict to escalate in order to justify a new wave of mobilization. Russia could thus attack one of the Baltic states.
- Zelenskyy sent an urgent letter to U.S. President Donald Trump and the U.S. Congress regarding the critical shortage of air defense systems and related missiles.
- Russian forces bombed a playground in Kherson. According to available information, two girls aged 3 and 6 and their mother were injured, while the father of the family was killed.
- Norway and France signed a treaty today in Paris establishing a nuclear defense alliance. France will provide assistance to Norway and defend it in the event that Norway is attacked.
- Russian forces shelled three DTEK power plants in the Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving 63 communities in the border areas without power.
- The United States has denied a visa application by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov, who was scheduled to attend a meeting of the UN Security Council.
- London and Warsaw have signed an agreement on the joint development of military technology and the strengthening of cooperation in the field of air defense.
- Four people were injured, two of whom are in critical condition, after Russian drones attacked the center of Odessa in broad daylight.

Tuesday: A new map published by the Russian military blogger Rybár—whose information has been confirmed by other Russian military channels—reveals two important points. First, it demonstrates that Ukrainian drones are now inflicting significant losses on Russian logistics deep within Russian rear areas. At the same time, however, it suggests that the Ukrainian counteroffensive south of Zaporizhzhia is much larger and more successful than previously assumed. The Ukrainians are keeping all information under wraps, but Rybár claims that the Ukrainians have broken through Russian defenses in the sector near the town of Stepnove and are making further advances southward. And this is also happening:

- A Russian intelligence officer with the call sign “Shaman” infiltrated Lyman to gather information on Ukrainian military positions. He was sheltered by a local woman, who helped him direct artillery fire by scouting the terrain during their walks. During an operation aimed at uncovering and dismantling the cell, the attacker put up armed resistance and was killed by Ukrainian soldiers. The woman was arrested and now faces a severe punishment.
- Thanks to a public tender involving six manufacturers, the largest contract to date for 155mm artillery shells in Ukraine resulted in savings of 16% on the purchase price. The funds saved will be used to purchase tens of thousands of additional shells beyond the scope of the original order.
- Ukrainian troops from the 14th Army Corps are refuting Russian claims that the village of Ryasne in the Sumy region has been captured, calling them disinformation. They say the situation is under control; Ukrainian troops are holding their defensive positions, repelling attacks, and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.
- The Kremlin will close the airspace over its capital and much of Russia. In July, a ban on flights at altitudes up to 5,100 meters will take effect, affecting small sport aircraft, private jets, and other civilian flights.
- Belarus is likely laying the groundwork for an invasion of Ukraine: Its state propaganda is now falsely claiming that Ukraine is allegedly constantly attacking Belarusian infrastructure with drones.
- A recent attack on Kyiv was coordinated by an 18-year-old whom the Russian FSB had recruited on Telegram. The SBU tracked him down, and he now faces up to life in prison.
- The Russian Ministry of Defense claims to have captured Dobropasove in the Dnipropetrovsk region. However, this is dozens of kilometers away from where most analysts place the front line.
- European leaders and diplomats are making it clear to Russia that they will remain in Kyiv despite warnings from Moscow, and are rejecting what they have described as an attempt to intimidate and isolate Ukraine.
- Russia has stepped up its jamming of GPS signals in the waters of the Baltic Sea near Finland, posing once again a threat primarily to civil aviation and shipping.
- The Ukrainian Air Force struck a Russian command and control post in occupied Luhansk yesterday using British-French Storm Shadow guided missiles.
- A fire broke out at the IntekKhim oil depot in Bashkiria. The facility is a key hub for the storage and distribution of petroleum products in the region.
- The Russians attempted to shoot down a stork using an FPV drone, likely because they mistook it for the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle "Leleka."
- The Syzran oil refinery in Russia's Samara Region has suspended operations following a recent Ukrainian airstrike.
- Six people were killed and more than 100 were injured in Ukraine during Russian airstrikes over the past day.

Monday: Russia is desperately trying to capitalize on a recent incident in which Ukrainians struck the base of Rubikon, an elite Russian drone unit, in occupied Starobilsk. Rubikon had set up a temporary base in a university dormitory building, which it also used as a recruitment center for new pilots from among the student body. Evidence confirming this was previously published by the Russians themselves on their social media. Now, however, they are trying to delete all evidence because they need to sell the world a different story: one about how “Nazi Ukraine killed innocent children.” And they do not shy away from exploiting even the images of people whom the Russians themselves killed in the past. Among the portraits of the alleged victims of the airstrike are at least six young Ukrainian men and women whose photos the Russians randomly collected from the internet and who have no connection whatsoever to Starobilsk, let alone being present at the time of the airstrike. Yesterday, the Russians brought “independent foreign journalists” to the site, among whom are the usual faces that the Russians use for various roles in their propaganda. Just Russia. And this is also happening:

- Russia reportedly fired two Oreshnik missiles as part of yesterday’s strike, which involved 690 projectiles aimed at Kyiv. One of the missiles struck the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region. The second apparently struck Russian forces in the occupied part of the Donetsk region.
- The Russian Foreign Ministry is demanding the release of Metropolitan Hilarion of the Russian Orthodox Church, who was detained in the Czech Republic with a white powder and is suspected of drug trafficking.
- Four people were killed and 69 were injured in Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian territory over the past day. One man was killed when a Russian UAV struck a civilian vehicle in the Sumy region.
- Lavrov informed Rubio that Russia was launching systematic attacks on “command centers” in Kyiv. The Russian foreign minister also asked the U.S. to evacuate American diplomats.
- Russia is recruiting men from the occupied Kherson region into the BARS-33 unit. It is luring them with a salary equivalent to $2,700, short-term contracts, and “service close to home.”
- Ukraine has deployed 400 Lima stations that jam the navigation systems of Russian missiles, tricking the weapons into believing they are in Peru and diverting them from their intended targets.
- Russian electronic warfare systems jammed the satellite communications of a British Royal Air Force aircraft carrying British Defense Minister John Healey.
- Nigel Farage claims that his phone may have been hacked by Russian hackers. In reality, Farage collaborates with the Russians himself, and it recently came to light that they financed his campaigns.
- Alexander Dugin, the chief ideologue of the “Russian World” whose ideas have had a major influence on the Kremlin, proposed that Russians should only have access to the internet “for good behavior.”
- Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sharply criticized Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and accused him of leading the country toward a breakdown in relations with Moscow.
- The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow intends to file a lawsuit against Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia over alleged violations of the rights of Russian citizens.
- Putin signed a law allowing the military to be deployed to "protect" Russians detained abroad.
- President Zelenskyy welcomed Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in Kyiv.
- Ukraine struck a Russian oil refinery in the Bryansk region overnight.

Sunday: Alena Schillerová of ANO once again perfectly demonstrated why she is nicknamed “Dlužena” when she declared in all seriousness that “now is the best time to sell Explosia.” In the current global security situation, factories like Explosia are not only economically viable but, more importantly, can very quickly become key elements of national defense. Instead, Babiš’s government is toying with the idea of selling it. This would only make sense if Babiš’s goal were to weaken the Czech Republic. And since this isn’t the only instance where Babiš’s actions have led or are leading to the Czech Republic’s weakening, it’s likely not a mistake but an intentional act. And this is also happening:

- Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using approximately 700 missiles and drones. The capital, Kyiv, was hit the hardest. Russia also deployed the Oreshnik missile system once again. According to Russia, dozens of military targets were struck overnight. Where did the drones and missiles actually land? Confirmed strikes hit: the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs building (for the first time since World War II), the Chernobyl Museum, a water treatment plant, the Podil Opera and Ballet Theater, the Kyiv School of Economics, the Institute of Religious Studies, the tax administration headquarters, a market, a shopping center, residential buildings, and other civilian infrastructure. An Oreshnik missile then struck a garage in the city of Bila Tserkva. Two people were killed and 62 were injured.
- A woman from Russia traveled to occupied Georgian territory to screen a propaganda war film there and drowned in a swollen river after falling from a footbridge. Rescue workers found the body of Anna Tytsova (Zakharianova) three days later in a mountain river—35 kilometers from where she had fallen into the water.
- Pashinyan announced the launch of a railway route through Georgia and Turkey that will directly connect Armenia with the EU, thereby bypassing Russia. Yerevan is also planning direct rail links with Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran, amid a sharp cooling of relations with Moscow.
- Lukashenko and Macron spoke on the phone for the first time in several years. According to Minsk, the call was reportedly initiated by the French side. During the call, Macron reportedly warned Lukashenko not to get drawn into a war with Ukraine.
- New drone footage has shown a recent Ukrainian missile strike on the training center of the Russian special battalion “Akhmat” (Kadyrovites) in the Kursk region. The attack reportedly claimed several dozen lives.
- The United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and Canada opposed Mark Rutte’s proposal that NATO member states allocate at least 0.25% of their GDP annually to military aid for Ukraine.
- Videos on social media confirm that the "Vtorovo" gas station in Russia's Vladimir Oblast was successfully struck by Ukrainian drones.
- An ammunition depot is on fire in Russian-occupied Melitopol in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region. Secondary explosions can be heard from the site.
- Finnish President Alexander Stubb said he is prepared to represent the EU in any negotiations with Russia.

Saturday: The Ukrainian president announced that there are signs of preparations for a combined attack on Ukraine, including Kyiv, using various types of weapons, including the Oreshnik system. The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv immediately issued a warning about a potentially large-scale attack that could occur within the next 24 hours. At the time of writing, the first explosions were already being heard in Kyiv. However, we won’t know the full extent of the attack until morning. And this is also happening:

- Ukrainian drones struck the "Metafrax" chemical plant in Russia's Perm Krai, approximately 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border. The company's products supply dozens of other Russian military manufacturing plants, including manufacturers of aircraft and drones, rocket engines, and explosives. Production at the plant was halted following the airstrike.
- Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova compared Latvia’s representative to the UN to a concentration camp employee: “People like Latvia’s representative Sanita Pavļuta-Deslandes were exactly the kind of people who were hired as nurses in Salaspils to draw blood from children for the soldiers of the Third Reich.”
- According to Russian military sources, Ukrainian forces are beginning to make gains in their counteroffensives around the strategic town of Lyman. The nearby towns of Yampil and Dibrova are reportedly nearly surrounded, putting the Russians at risk of having their supply lines to the entire Lyman sector cut off.
- Russia has closed the Rostov–Crimea highway to civilian traffic after a wave of Ukrainian drones struck this vital route. Additional drones also struck the Mariupol–Donetsk highway. As a result, the entire land corridor leading to Crimea is currently under threat.
- Ukraine struck the Admiral Essen, a key Russian vessel designed to launch Kalibr missiles, as well as one of the two existing Project 1239 Bora-class corvettes equipped with a hydrofoil propulsion system, in the port of Novorossiysk.
- NASA satellite images show a massive fire currently raging at gas storage facilities in Novorossiysk, in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. It appears that the site was hit directly.
- A Russian operator struck a funeral procession with a drone in the Sumy region. The man who suffered the most serious injuries was taken to the hospital. However, paramedics were unable to save him.
- According to The Wall Street Journal, Ukraine has learned to shoot down as many as 97% of Shahed-type drones, thereby creating one of the most effective anti-drone air defense systems in the world.
- Russia is sending trucks loaded with construction materials to the front line near the town of Khulyaypole. It is likely building fortified positions in anticipation of a Ukrainian counteroffensive.
- Russian soldiers deliberately injured three elderly men, aged 83, 80, and 69, who were unable to escape their FPV drones in the Kherson region.
- Ukrainian drones successfully struck an oil storage facility in the town of Hrushevye and an oil terminal in Sheshcharis.
- Local media are reporting that a rocket attack struck the village of Borisovka in Russia's Belgorod region today.
- In the direction of Orichiv, Ukrainian armed forces have completely liberated the village of Malaya Tokmachka.
- Babiš announced that his government is considering selling Explosia to a foreign buyer.

Friday: Putin ordered a retaliatory strike against Ukraine following the attack on a university building in Starobilsk. He described the attack on the student dormitory as a “terrorist attack” and claimed that Kyiv was trying to divert attention from the situation on the front lines and provoke Russia into escalating the conflict. Of course, the reality is somewhat different. According to local residents, the dormitory was being used by the Russian military as makeshift barracks. The Ukrainian side claims the same thing. But this is also happening:

- Hungary has once again banned imports of Ukrainian products. Peter Magyar’s government has reinstated the restrictions introduced under Orbán’s administration. The ban was lifted after the change in government, but was later described as a “legislative error.” The restrictions apply to meat, eggs, grain, flour, corn, sunflower products, and rapeseed oil. Hungarian authorities claim that these measures protect local farmers from Ukrainian imports.
- Oleksandr Krochmaljuk—a military medic who joined the Azov Battalion in 2016—was tortured to death while in Russian captivity. Krochmaljuk’s body was repatriated in September 2025 as part of the “1,000 for 1,000” exchange. According to a forensic autopsy performed in Lviv on September 22, 2025, the cause of death was fractured ribs and blunt force trauma to the chest.
- A powerful explosion rocked Hungary’s largest petrochemical plant—at least one person was killed and several others were seriously injured. The explosion occurred at the Olefin-1 plant, operated by the MOL Group in Tiszaújváros, during the restart of the facility following maintenance work.
- The Ukrainian government has proposed a humanitarian ceasefire in the devastated town of Olešky near Kherson so that thousands of trapped residents can finally escape. According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinec, both sides have already agreed to evacuate approximately 6,000 civilians, including 200 children.
- NATO conducted an underground military exercise in the London Underground as part of preparations for a potential conflict with Russia. The exercise took place on an abandoned platform at Charing Cross station in London. Soldiers simulated a possible Russian attack on the Baltic states.
- According to Ukrainian media, citing sources from monitoring stations, an Iskander-M missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads reportedly exploded at a launch site during joint nuclear exercises in Belarus.
- The U.S. is suspending peace talks on Ukraine. Rubio stated that Washington would only return to the talks if the situation changed, adding, “If someone else wants to take the lead—please, go ahead.”
- Trump announced the deployment of an additional 5,000 U.S. troops to Poland. He justified this by saying that the Poles had made a “good” choice in electing the current president, Nawrocki, whom Trump openly supported during the campaign.
- Putin called on Ukrainian soldiers not to obey the “Kyiv regime” and claimed that Ukrainian troops would allegedly become “accomplices to crimes” if they continued to follow orders from their commanders.
- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: “Under the banner of Nazism, the West is creating a pan-European strike force aimed against Russia.”
- According to a report by RBC-Ukraine, Russia is preparing for a new mobilization this fall in order to launch a new offensive from Belarus.
- The U.S. has approved the sale of Hawk air defense system equipment worth more than $108 million to Ukraine.
- In the town of Marhanec in the Dnipropetrovsk region, 13 people were injured when a Russian FPV drone crashed near a company vehicle.
- Russia is offering students who pass the drone pilot exam more favorable terms for university admission.
- A representative of the Trump administration will attend a leading Russian economic forum.

Friday: According to The Guardian, the Kremlin genuinely fears that a drone attack could disrupt the May 9 parade, turning what was meant to be a celebration of triumph into a public humiliation for Putin. For the first time in decades, Moscow has significantly reduced the number of military vehicles in the parade, precisely because of fears of Ukrainian drones. The newspaper reports that one of the Kremlin’s key targets for a potential assassination is therefore the commander of Ukraine’s unmanned systems forces, Robert “Maďar” Brovdi. After Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he is considered one of the most significant enemies of Russian intelligence services. And this is also happening:

Russian drones are dropping propaganda leaflets disguised as Ukrainian banknotes in northern Ukraine ahead of Russia’s Victory Day, which falls on May 9. The leaflets call for “joint celebrations” and promote the Kremlin’s historical narratives. The leaflets also contain QR codes that link to articles aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian leadership and spreading war propaganda. The Russians have previously attempted to use the same tactic in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Sweden has supplied Ukraine with specialized equipment for the maintenance of military airfields. The systems will help ensure rapid maintenance of runways, keep the airfields operational in all weather conditions, and thus support the continuous operation of the combat air force.
A massive forest fire is raging near Chernobyl. The fire has already engulfed more than 1,100 hectares of forest and is spreading rapidly due to strong winds. In some areas, it is currently impossible to extinguish the fire because rescue workers are hindered by landmines left behind in the forest following the Russian occupation.
The Ukrainian delegation asked officials from the U.S. State Department to verify whether sanctioned ships in the Russian shadow fleet are using Starlink terminals, which would violate U.S. sanctions policy.
For the first time in history, the Kremlin has revoked the press credentials of foreign journalists for the May 9 celebrations. Among the journalists whose invitations have been revoked are reporters from Germany, the United States, Italy, and Japan.
China will not send an official delegation to the parade in Moscow. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, only staff members of the Chinese Embassy in Russia will attend the event.
Thirteen Russian airports lost communication after Ukrainian drones struck the air traffic control building in Rostov-on-Don. More than 14,000 passengers were stranded at the airports as a result of the attack.
The Russian "Gerbera" drone, made of foam and mass-produced at minimal cost, is now being used as a "mother drone" to transport FPV drones over long distances.
Azov has returned to Mariupol. But not by land, of course. Nevertheless, the unit’s drones are currently hunting down Russian occupiers right in the city streets, about 160 km from the nearest front line.
Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Slavneft-YANOS Novo-Yaroslavl oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region.
Zelenskyy stated that he does not recommend that representatives of foreign countries travel to Moscow for the parade.

Wednesday: Ukraine will not support the ceasefire that Russia declared for May 9, calling it pointless. By 10 a.m. alone, Russia had violated the ceasefire declared by Zelenskyy 1,820 times. And for broader context: During the previous “Easter ceasefire,” there were more than 10,000 violations by Russia in just 32 hours. In response, Russia called on Western countries to evacuate their diplomats from Kyiv, claiming it would strike government buildings in retaliation if Ukraine attacked Moscow during the May 9 celebrations. And this is also happening:

Iran has caused far more damage to U.S. military facilities in the Middle East than Washington has publicly acknowledged so far. According to satellite imagery, Iranian strikes have damaged or destroyed at least 228 facilities at U.S. bases across the region—including barracks, hangars, radar systems, Patriot and THAAD defense systems, aircraft, fuel depots, and communications centers.
The U.S. has broken the record for fertilizer purchases from Russia. In March, the United States imported Russian fertilizers worth over $240 million, the largest volume in the history of bilateral trade. The sanctions have also had an unexpected effect: the new U.S. tariffs did not affect Russia, but hit its competitors, thereby tilting the market in Moscow’s favor.
In occupied Sevastopol, Russia is jailing soldiers from its own officially disbanded neo-Nazi unit, “Española,” on charges of trafficking in weapons and explosives. Five months ago, Russian security forces killed the unit’s founder, Stanislav Orlov, in the same city.
China today called on Ukraine to “act in accordance with international law” regarding two captured Chinese fighters, without specifying whether Beijing intends to bring them back home. Both men joined Russian forces after responding to an advertisement on TikTok and were captured in Ukraine back in April 2025.
Among the victims of the Russian attack on gas industry workers in the Poltava region is Oleksandr Kozin. President Zelenskyy recently awarded him the Order of Merit, Third Class, for the courage with which he dealt with the aftermath of previous Russian attacks.
After a long hiatus, Russia has resumed buying foreign currencies and gold to replenish its National Wealth Fund. The reason is the rise in oil prices linked to the conflict in the Persian Gulf. Russia’s oil revenues nearly doubled in April.

Tuesday: Ukrainian forces struck the Kirishinefteorgsintez refinery in the Leningrad Oblast overnight. Images from NASA’s FIRMS satellite confirm a fire at the site, while local authorities report only that 18 Ukrainian drones were shot down during the night. However, operations at the refinery were halted following the airstrike. Another strike also hit the VNIIR-Progress facility in Cheboksary. It manufactures Kometa navigation modules used in Russian drones and Kalibr and Iskander missiles. What did the Russians strike in retaliation? Read more in the report:

Canada has increased its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund by $14.5 million, bringing its total contribution to more than $67 million. Equipment worth approximately $304 million is already on its way to Ukraine and is expected to arrive before the cold weather sets in.
According to Reuters, Sweden will establish a new foreign intelligence service. It will be a civilian agency, report to the government, and operate alongside existing intelligence services. It is scheduled to launch in early 2027, and the project is estimated to cost approximately $302 million.
Following the EU–Armenia summit, Yerevan signed strategic partnership agreements with four countries: the United Kingdom, France, Croatia, and Bulgaria. The European Union has also allocated 30 million euros to support the Armenian armed forces, and Armenia will seek to join the EU.

Friday: For the second month in a row, the Russians have been losing territory—67 square kilometers in April and another 31 in March. The cause likely lies not in what is happening on the front lines, but 200 km behind them. Ukrainian drones struck 440 hard targets last month alone. Since last June, they have also destroyed 492 Russian air defense systems. They are thus destroying them much faster than Moscow can replace them. The Russian army’s defensive infrastructure is therefore collapsing. This leads to strikes that are hitting targets deeper and deeper into the Russian rear, so Russian units arrive at the front already suffering from a shortage of fuel and ammunition and with depleted ranks—including the command structure. What can one say? Perhaps only that things are getting worse. And this is also happening:

Ukrainian intelligence carried out an attack on the Shagol airbase in Chelyabinsk. The base is located about 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border, deep within Russian territory. According to the SBU, four aircraft were destroyed, including two Su-57 fighters, one Su-34 aircraft, and another aircraft that could not be identified. Citing satellite imagery, the General Staff confirms strikes on at least three targets and reports the destruction of ground support equipment in the vicinity of the aircraft.
Ukraine is preparing a military reform set to begin in June, which includes pay raises for frontline soldiers and the introduction of a new contract system. According to government officials, these changes are intended to ensure that compensation better reflects combat duties, experience, and the level of responsibility.
Kartheiser, a pro-Russian MEP from Luxembourg, stated on Facebook that he and “other Members of the European Parliament” had met in Istanbul with Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the Russian State Duma’s Committee on International Affairs, and other Russian politicians.
The Russian government has banned the import of foreign equipment designed for “transmitting and receiving radio waves from space-based communication facilities—communication satellites.” This definition applies in particular to Starlink terminals.

Wednesday: The Italian prime minister responded after Russian propagandist Solovyov called her a “fascist,” “whore,” “monster,” and “traitor” on live television: “Unlike others, we are not controlled by anyone; we have no masters and we do not take orders. We have only one compass, and that is the interests of Italy.” Italy summoned the Russian ambassador over the scandal, and politicians across the political spectrum expressed their support for Meloni. It’s almost like the thief shouting “catch the thief,” isn’t it? And this is also happening:

Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, gave an interview to the media this week in which he compared Moldova’s measures against the Russian-backed separatist region of Transnistria to Ukraine’s approach to the Donbas prior to 2014 and threatened intervention with the aim of “protect the 220,000 Russian passport holders living in Transnistria.”
Communist Party Chairman Zyuganov predicts that a revolution could take place in Russia as early as this fall. He stated that the country’s economic situation has deteriorated sharply and practically “hit rock bottom” in the first quarter. According to Zyuganov, Russia is thus facing in the fall what already happened once in 1917.
At Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, U.S. forces have begun using a Ukrainian anti-drone system that combines data from radars and sensors to detect and neutralize drones. Ukrainian experts are on site to train U.S. personnel on how to operate the system.
Spain will supply Ukraine with approximately 100 VAMTAC armored vehicles and ammunition. Defense Minister Margarita Robles announced the new aid package during a visit to Kyiv. Deliveries will begin in early May. The package also includes 155mm ammunition for artillery systems.

Saturday: At the time this report was written, a large-scale counterterrorism operation was underway right on the streets of Kyiv. The perpetrator killed several people with a firearm and then barricaded himself inside the Velmart supermarket in the Demijivska district, where he was holding several hostages. The KORD counterterrorism unit responded to the scene and, after unsuccessful negotiations and a subsequent raid, shot and killed the attacker. The incident left at least five people dead and fifteen injured. The attacker was 57-year-old Dmitry Vasylchenkov, a native of Moscow and a retired lieutenant colonel in the Russian Army—military unit 30274. Russia is beginning to resort to terrorism in the form we know from various separatist or Islamist terrorist cells. And this is also happening:

The Ukrainian president warned that Russia has not given up on its attempts to drag Belarus into the war. Increased activity has been observed in Belarus’s border regions: roads are being built toward the Ukrainian border, artillery positions are being established, and military forces are being deployed. Ukraine has made it clear to Minsk that a decisive response will follow in the event of a threat of invasion: On that occasion, Zelenskyy reminded Belarusian officials of recent events in Venezuela and warned them that they could face the same fate.
Ukrainian hackers infiltrated a closed-door meeting of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade dedicated to the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and eavesdropped on officials discussing the country’s heavy reliance on China. Engines, electronics, batteries—almost everything is imported from China. Russian companies essentially just assemble drones, 90% of which consist of ready-made Chinese components. But it’s not just about economic efficiency. Russia is currently unable to manufacture most of the parts at all.
This week, the Russian State Duma passed a law allowing Putin to deploy troops anywhere in the world for the purpose of “protecting Russian citizens.” The law received 413 votes. No one voted against it. Both Estonia and Latvia have large Russian-speaking minorities along their borders with Russia. Both countries are now intensively preparing for a potential Russian invasion.
On Friday afternoon, the Trump administration quietly extended the suspension of sanctions on Russian oil, even though just a few hours earlier it had claimed that it would be tightening the sanctions again. The U.S. Treasury Department issued a general license allowing the delivery and sale of Russian oil already loaded onto ships until May 16.
Ukrainian intelligence claims that several Russian naval and infrastructure targets were hit during a nighttime strike on Sevastopol: the large landing ships "Yamal" and "Azov," another warship of an unknown type, the "Delfin" communications system, the MR-10M1 “Mis-M1,” and the Yugtorsan fuel depot.
Russian "Geran-2" (Shahed) drones are equipped with LTE modems that use SIM cards from the Russian mobile operator Tele2. Roaming for these cards is blocked over Ukrainian territory, but remains active with local operators when flying along the borders with Belarus, Poland, or Romania.
The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed that drone attacks took place overnight on four Russian oil facilities. The Novokuybyshevsk and Syzran refineries in the Samara Region, the RPC-Vysock Lukoil-2 terminal in the Leningrad Region, and the Tikhoretsk pumping station in the Krasnodar Krai are on fire.
Russian propaganda released a video claiming that Ukrainian drones bearing swastikas had been shot down. However, the video clearly shows Russian Molniya drones to which the Russians have affixed stickers with Nazi symbols.
Ukrainian forces entered Toretsk and also managed to recapture several positions in the northern part of Lyman.
The Russian Minister of Economic Development announced that Russia has almost exhausted all of its financial reserves.
Slovakia is filing a lawsuit against the EU over the ban on Russian gas imports.

Friday: Czech intelligence analysts examined the timeline of recent threats made by Russia against Czech companies and found that the disinformation channel “neČT24” (operated by Russia’s Sputnik, according to Czech intelligence) not only published the threat just two minutes after its initial release in Russian state media, but also provided a Czech translation and a list of addresses for the affected Czech companies—and did so even faster than Russia’s TASS itself, where the list of companies appeared only several minutes later after one of the article’s revisions. This effectively confirms that the neČT24 channel is directly controlled by Russian state propaganda, or at the very least works closely with it to spread key narratives. To provide some context, let’s recall that Vávra and his “Society for the Defense of Freedom of Speech” recently shared this channel and, following criticism, downplayed its ties to Russian propaganda, thereby indirectly confirming that they, too, collaborate with Russian state propaganda. And then this happened:

- Analysts argue that Putin may want to test NATO’s collective defense, given that Russia is heading toward defeat and economic disaster, and so the Kremlin desperately needs anything it can present as a victory. If NATO were to fail to respond to Russian provocations near Finland or the Baltic states, it would hand Putin a propaganda victory on a silver platter.
- Russian military blogger Anatoly Radov suggests on his account that the Russian army is starting to feel the heat in the town of Chasiv Yar on the eastern front. His posts indicate that, in recent months, the Russian army captured 98% of the town at the cost of heavy losses, but now controls only 71%.
- During military tests off the coast of California, approximately 20 naval drones lost connection for nearly an hour due to a Starlink network outage. The Pentagon is concerned about the results: reliance on a single system creates a single point of failure.
- Russia struck Zaporizhzhia this morning, injuring seven people, including an eight-year-old boy. The other injured included three men and three women. Four of them remain in the hospital under medical supervision. The other two are receiving outpatient treatment.
- Russia is withdrawing roughly 20,000 troops from various sections of the front to bolster its offensive operations in the Donetsk region. However, 20,000 is fewer troops than Russia lost over the past month.
- Grinex, a cryptocurrency exchange linked to Russia that has been subject to sanctions, announced that it has suspended operations after more than $13 million was stolen in a cyberattack.
- Ukrainian defenders neutralized the experienced sniper Vladimir Okotett, who had come to Ukraine to search for his missing son, and killed his entire team along with him.
- Moldova has declared the commander of the Russian garrison in Transnistria and his officers persona non grata. They have been barred from entering the country and face permanent expulsion.
- The fuel depot in Tuapse, Russia, is still burning. A total of 177 firefighters and 56 pieces of equipment are involved in the operation, but the fire has not yet been extinguished.
- King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden arrived in Ukraine for the first-ever visit by a Swedish monarch in the country’s modern history.
- The United Kingdom has transferred frozen Russian assets worth £752 million (approximately $1 billion) to Ukraine.
- The Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed 114 Russian artillery systems over the past 24 hours.
- Russia has once again set a deadline for capturing the rest of Donbas, this time for September of this year.
- Trump has extended the ban on Russian ships docking in U.S. ports for another year.
- A Russian airstrike crippled a power plant in Chernihiv. 6,000 people were left without power.

Thursday: Russia has published a list of European factories that allegedly manufacture drones and equipment for Ukraine and could become potential targets of Russian strikes. The list includes facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic, as well as companies in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Israel. Medvedev commented on Twitter/X, stating that the Defense Ministry’s statement should be taken literally: “When these strikes will take place depends on how the situation develops. Sleep well, European partners!” The Czech Republic has already summoned the Russian ambassador over Medvedev’s remarks. And this is also happening:

- The Russians carried out a major airstrike on cities across Ukraine. The Russian military launched a total of 703 aerial targets—including ballistic and guided missiles as well as attack drones—and Ukrainian air defenses shot down approximately 95% of them. At present, at least 17 people are known to have been killed and 120 injured as a result of the attack. Kyiv reports 5 dead (including 2 children) and 58 injured. In Dnipro, there are 3 dead and 34 injured. Odesa reports 9 dead and 23 injured. Kharkiv has 2 injured. Debris removal is ongoing in the cities, so the final death toll may rise.
- Fiocchi Munizioni, a subsidiary of the Czechoslovak Group, has unveiled new anti-drone ammunition designed for use in standard assault rifles chambered in 5.56×45 mm and 5.45×39 mm. Upon leaving the barrel, the round disperses 23 tungsten projectiles with a diameter of 2 mm and a weight of approximately 5 g. The effective range is 50 to 70 m, with a maximum range of 80 to 100 m.
- Sergei Shoigu—Russia’s former defense minister and one of Putin’s closest allies—has warned Finland and the Baltic states that Moscow may exercise its “right to self-defense.” He claims that Ukrainian drones are flying through their airspace and states that Russia could respond “appropriately,” citing Article 51 of the UN Charter.
- Slovakia has announced that it will block the 20th package of EU sanctions against Russia until the operation of the Druzhba pipeline is secured, but will approve a €90 billion loan for Ukraine. Fico has likely been tasked with taking over at least part of Orbán’s agenda.
- First Lieutenant Alexei Andreevich Zincov, call sign “Vojevoda,” a pilot of a Russian Ka-52 helicopter and administrator of a Telegram channel with 164,000 subscribers, has reportedly committed suicide. In an alleged farewell video, he stated that he had exercised his right to a final “officer’s honor.”
- Putin has backtracked. Moscow will ultimately pay Baku compensation for the plane crash. Azerbaijan and Russia announced that they have reached an agreement on compensation, though the amount has not been disclosed.

Wednesday: The brother of Natálie Vachatová, Andrej Babiš’s advisor on “freedom of speech,” runs a business in Russia in an industry that is directly involved in supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine. His business involves debt collection, which he handles in a unique way: Debtors are offered the chance to have their debts taken over by the state if they enlist in the army and go to fight in Ukraine. The revelation came from the Voxpot project. Thus, within the Czech prime minister’s inner circle, there is an easily blackmailed individual who poses both a security risk and a risk of information leaks. And this is also happening:

The Czech industrial group Alta allegedly provided services to Russian tank and artillery manufacturers following the invasion of Ukraine through fictitious transfers of ownership rights. Alta Group entities with ties to Russia reported $24 million in revenue in 2024 and paid $2 million in taxes to the Russian government.
Britain will supply Ukraine with 120,000 drones. The package will include long-range attack drones, reconnaissance drones, drones for logistics operations, and systems designed for maritime use, many of which are manufactured by British companies.
Sixteen people with ties to Russian intelligence services have been detained in Estonia. According to a senior security official, most of those detained worked for the FSB, while some had ties to military intelligence.
Hackers linked to Russia have breached hundreds of email accounts belonging to Ukrainian prosecutors and investigators. The group Fancy Bear is reportedly behind the operation. According to Reuters, more than 170 accounts were compromised in Ukraine.

Tuesday: Ukraine and Germany have signed a new military cooperation agreement worth 4 billion euros. Germany will finance hundreds of missiles for the Patriot systems and supply 36 launchers for the IRIS-T system, thereby strengthening the protection of Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. 300 million euros will be invested in long-range strike capabilities. Both countries will also begin joint production of drones equipped with artificial intelligence, with 5,000 units planned for the Ukrainian armed forces in the first phase. And this also happened:

- The ABINSK, the ship on which Russia transported 43,765 tons of wheat stolen from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, arrived in the Israeli city of Haifa. The grain was shipped from occupied Ukrainian ports to the anchorage in the port of Kavkaz, where it was loaded onto the Russian cargo tanker ABINSK. The ship then anchored in Kerch in occupied Crimea, from where it set sail on March 17. Starting on March 23, the ABINSK waited for permission from Israel and was accepted in Haifa on April 12.
- The Russians lost in Hungary, but just a few dozen kilometers away, a new development is taking shape. The new speaker of the Slovenian parliament, Zoran Stevanović, has stated that he plans to hold a referendum on withdrawing from NATO. Stevanović also declared that he intends to travel to Moscow for talks, while insisting that his stance is not “pro-Russian” but “focused on Slovenia’s interests.” A classic path from COVID denier to supporter of Russia.
- A Russian assault group attempted to exploit adverse weather conditions and limited visibility to breach Ukrainian defenses in the Sumy region. The Ukrainians detected them, however. Twenty-nine Russian soldiers were subsequently killed while attempting to infiltrate through a gas pipeline.
- Ukraine has unveiled a new Ukrainian missile drone called the Areion. It is equipped with a warhead weighing up to 120 kg and has a range of up to 600 km. The Areion is designed to be launched from a container compatible with the "Neptun" missile system.
- Ahead of the meeting in Ramstein, Belgium and Spain pledged €1 billion in financial aid to Ukraine each. Belgium will also supply additional F-16 fighter jets. Spain, for its part, is opening up its defense industry to joint production.
- The Russians launched a drone attack on maritime infrastructure in the port of Izmail in the Odessa region, damaging a civilian vessel flying the Panamanian flag, a pier, a cargo barge, and port facilities.
- Russia is altering the identification documents of deported Ukrainian children, hiding them with foster families deep within Russia, and using them as a bargaining chip in peace talks.
- Russia dropped six guided bombs on the Pechenegi Dam, which supplies drinking water to more than a million people in Kharkiv. The dam is holding for now, but further attacks are likely to follow.
- Pro-war blogger Alexander Vaskovsky has been arrested in Russia. He had written about the fiasco surrounding the conscription of students into the war and criticized the Russian authorities for it.
- In recent months, Ukraine has managed to rein in inflation, bringing it down to 7.4%. However, all those efforts have been undone by Trump’s war with Iran.
- Péter Magyar to Vučić: “I know what ties exist between you and that failure Orbán… and who the real mastermind behind it all is.”
- Five people were killed and at least 24 others were injured in a Russian missile strike on Dnipro on April 14.
- Zelenskyy announced that the Druzhba pipeline will be repaired by the end of April and operations will resume.

Monday: Russia is beginning to lose momentum in its recruitment efforts, as evidenced by its own statistics. According to German analyst Janis Kluge, the recruitment rate in 2026 fell by approximately 20% compared to 2025. While Russia recruited 1,000–1,200 contract soldiers per day in the first quarter of 2025, by early 2026 this number had fallen to just 800–1,000 per day, despite the fact that the Russians continue to increase recruitment bonuses and contract payments. Russia’s current military system is based on commercial recruitment, but this model is beginning to stagnate. Furthermore, Ukraine estimates that if it manages to hold out until the end of summer, the Russian economy will collapse in the fall. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for Russia that this works out, but for now, more news:

- Russia Today organized a festival of Russian propaganda films in Italy. The screenings took place in Bologna, but the organizers did not disclose the exact location. Films such as “The West’s Bloody Puppets” were shown. Among the audience were people wearing T-shirts bearing the “Z” symbol. The festival was organized by Italian journalist and longtime collaborator with Russian state propaganda Vincenzo Lorusso and producer Ekaterina Yakovleva. Neither of them traveled to Italy—the entire event was coordinated from Moscow.
- The Ukrainian Security Service has detained a Kharkiv resident suspected of collaborating with Russia. According to the investigation, she provided real-time instructions for the massive attack on Kharkiv that took place on April 2. Security officials claim that the detainee was guiding new Russian Geran-3 kamikaze drones. According to the SBU, the suspect was caught red-handed in a city park while live-streaming the second wave of drone attacks on the city’s residential neighborhoods.
- The EU has set 27 conditions for the Hungarian prime minister, which must be met in order for Hungary to receive European subsidies totaling approximately $35 billion. The conditions include releasing EU funds for Ukraine and lifting the veto on sanctions against Russia, as well as implementing domestic reforms. The future prime minister has already pledged to release the funds for Ukraine.
- Russians are flocking to Asian messaging apps. Following recent blocks, their user base grew by 60% in March. The Turkish app BiP more than doubled its user base to 1.7 million, while KakaoTalk saw an 82% increase and is approaching half a million users.
- Ukrainian forces were forced to withdraw from at least two villages on the border of the Sumy region after Russian forces launched an offensive there. A similar situation is unfolding in the border area near Kharkiv, where Russian forces have penetrated one of the villages in recent days, captured four Ukrainian soldiers, and shot them.
- According to President Zelenskyy, Ukrainian ground robotic systems have carried out more than 22,000 missions in just three months. In at least one instance, they managed to capture Russian positions and take Russian soldiers prisoner without any involvement from ground troops.
- At a press conference, Péter Magyar stated that the current Hungarian Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, and his team had begun destroying evidence related to their cooperation with Russia at the Foreign Ministry’s offices.
- The future Hungarian Prime Minister, Magyar, stated that demanding Ukraine cede territory is “unworthy” of the Hungarian resistance of 1956 and that only Ukraine can decide what happens to its territory.
- Russia accidentally killed its own soldiers while violating the Easter ceasefire. Russian forces killed three unarmed soldiers during an evacuation using FPV drones, without realizing that those struck were captured Russian soldiers.
- At least two people were killed and six were injured in Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, despite the Easter ceasefire. Russian forces launched 98 drones into Ukraine overnight, 65 of which were Shahed drones.
- Ukrainian drones struck a major industrial complex in the Russian city of Cherepovets overnight, targeting a chemical plant that produces fertilizers and industrial compounds.
- On Monday morning, Russian forces attacked railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result, approximately 500 passengers on a commuter train had to be evacuated.
- Russia is now deploying pairs of Shahed drones against Ukrainian mobile fire units—one is tasked with distracting the crew, while the other is tasked with locating and killing them.
- The Kremlin announced that it now considers Hungary an enemy country.

Sunday: Parliamentary elections are underway in Hungary, and from the very start they have been marred by fraud similar to what we’ve seen in footage from Russia: vote-buying and election commission members entering the voting booth. More than sixty such incidents have already been reported. Even so, polls point to a convincing victory for the current opposition, and it appears the elections are seeing record voter turnout. If the opposition maintains its current numbers, it is headed for a constitutional majority. Nevertheless, we should not forget who stood behind Orbán in the current elections and publicly supported him, even after it came to light that Orbán’s government had collaborated with the Russians: Italian right-wing populist Matteo Salvini (Northern League), pro-Russian fascist Marine Le Pen (FN), Dutch far-right populist Geert Wilders (PVV), Austrian fascist Herbert Kickl (FPÖ), leader of the German fascist AfD Alice Weidel, leader of the Spanish fascist party Vox Santiago Abascal, leader of the Portuguese far-right party Chega André Ventura, leader of the Romanian neo-fascist pro-Russian party George Simion, but also Robert Fico, Karol Nawrocki, or… Andrej Babiš, Tomio Okamura, and others. Jindřich Rajchl is reportedly even personally present in Orbán’s campaign headquarters in Budapest. Birds of a feather flock together. And this is also happening:

- Putin has had seven additional Pantsir systems deployed around his residence in Valdai. New towers for the air defense systems have sprung up around his “favorite dacha” in just a few weeks. Construction began on March 17, and some of them are already fully equipped. Currently, about 27 air defense units are deployed around the residence, arranged in two rings.
- The Easter “ceasefire” continues just as it has from the very beginning: it is, in effect, non-existent. For example, the Russians used their FPV drones to strike and kill several Ukrainian medics who were trying to take advantage of the ceasefire to evacuate seriously wounded people from the front lines. Ukraine has already recorded around 2,299 instances of ceasefire violations by Russia.
- Ukrainian forces are launching successful counterattacks near Lyman and also on the southern section of the front near Zaporizhzhia. Rybar, one of Russia’s best-known military bloggers, is warning of an impending collapse of the Russian front and a “domino effect.”
- The "Chiryurt" substation, with a voltage rating of 330/110/10 kV, is on fire in Dagestan, Russia. It is a key hub substation that serves as a distribution node for electricity transmission between the main transmission grid and regional grids.
- Sweden detained a ship from Russia on suspicion of an environmental crime. The Coast Guard conducted an inspection aboard the cargo ship Hui Yuan near Ystad. The ship was en route from Russia to Las Palmas.
- Russian drones struck residential buildings in Odessa again, killing two civilians and damaging a student dormitory and a kindergarten.
- In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia, hundreds of Chinese workers at a local refinery have gone on strike over unpaid wages.
- Trump announced that the U.S. would impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz to deprive Iran of revenue from transit fees.
- The Russians shot and killed four Ukrainian prisoners of war near the village of Veterynarne in the Kharkiv region.

Saturday: As expected, Putin’s “ceasefire” lasted less than three hours before the Russian army began shelling cities along virtually the entire front line. Since morning, rockets have been raining down on Kherson from multiple-launch rocket systems. The Russians also deployed dozens of FPV drones, one of which struck a civilian bus, killing its driver. Kramatorsk was also under heavy fire, with at least three aerial bombs striking the city and several civilians injured. Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is prepared to continue the ceasefire but will respond with equal force to any violation. And if we can draw any conclusions from how all previous ceasefires announced by Russia have played out, it is almost certain that Russia will violate it again. Or rather, that a ceasefire will never actually happen. And this is also happening:

- The U.S. has just moved to unfreeze Iranian assets—billions of dollars held in Qatar and other countries. According to Reuters sources, this is linked to the Strait of Hormuz: once the funds are released, Tehran could allow tankers to pass through safely.
- As part of the latest prisoner exchange with Moscow, Ukraine has brought home 175 soldiers and seven civilians who had been held captive in Russia. Among the soldiers are 25 officers who took part in the defense of Mariupol and whom Russia had previously refused to exchange.
- Okamura and Rajchl have spoken out in favor of the Czech Republic resuming imports of Russian gas and oil. Russian Ural crude is currently selling for nearly $30 a barrel more than Brent crude.
- Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the southern part of the Zaporizhzhia region and, on April 11, published a report from the Ukrainian front lines in which he criticizes the West’s lack of support.
- Small drones killed 66 Ukrainian civilians in March—more than any other weapon. The total number of civilian casualties rose by 49% compared to February: 211 dead, 1,206 wounded.
- Estonia will not detain vessels belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet” in the Baltic Sea due to the risk of escalation. This was stated by Ivo Värk, commander of the Estonian Navy, in remarks to Reuters.
- Russia has designated a total of 19 Western universities as “undesirable organizations,” thereby exposing individuals associated with these institutions—including students—to the risk of imprisonment.
- On April 9, Polish F-16 fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft while on patrol over the Baltic Sea. This is the second such incident in a single week.
- Germany has handed over another five MEDIGUARD armored vehicles to the Ukrainian National Guard for the evacuation of the wounded.
- Zelenskyy: “Without Ukraine and Turkey, Europe has no army capable of competing with Russia.”
- Two days before the election, Trump promised Orbán massive economic support.
- Ukrainian drones struck the Russian city of Tver overnight.
- Babiš openly supported Viktor Orbán.

Friday: Russian propagandists are now openly admitting on their channels that the “coup” in Donbas was orchestrated by the Russian FSB—including the subsequent invasion and war—because, they claim, there is “no reason” to keep it hidden any longer. According to them, the entire operation was financed by Russian oligarch Malofeyev. It was his money that was supposed to arm the local “separatists”—read: criminals and other deviants—before the regular Russian army came to their aid. Those with a functioning brain will not be surprised by these “confessions.” But Russia’s fifth column will continue to parrot Russian propaganda about Nazis and denazification long after that. And this is also happening:

- European countries have significantly increased their purchases of Russian liquefied natural gas. Of the total 5 million tons of gas delivered to Europe since the beginning of the year, nearly a third was delivered in March alone. In fact, nearly all of the gas from the Yamal LNG project—approximately 97%—is destined for Europe.
- The Ukrainian group "Lasar," the Air Force, and the 15th Reconnaissance Brigade carried out a coordinated operation in Zaporizhzhia: they destroyed the Russian "Palantyn" electronic warfare system, located and struck an S-300V launcher and guidance radar, and the Air Force then struck a Russian drone command post.
- A 37-year-old foreign hitman was arrested in Odessa just before he was about to assassinate a high-ranking officer in the Ukrainian Navy. He was waiting outside the officer’s home, disguised as a cyclist and armed with a pistol and loaded magazines.
- Russian forces launched 128 attack drones, mostly Shahed-type drones, into Ukraine overnight; Ukrainian air defenses shot down or neutralized 113 of them, while 14 drones struck six locations and debris fell on seven others.
- Budanov warned that widespread draft evasion is jeopardizing Ukraine’s war effort, while tensions surrounding mobilization are mounting in the wake of recent attacks on officials responsible for conscription.
- On April 9, President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine expects repairs to the Druzhba pipeline to be completed this spring, but that “the responsibility for the actual supplies will lie with the Europeans.”
- Russia has begun completely blocking platforms like Telegram as well as VPN services. Russian police are now conducting raids on people who continue to use them and arresting them for “espionage activities.”
- Russian Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev has arrived in the United States to meet with President Donald Trump’s aides.
- During the night of April 9–10, a oil pumping station in Krymsk, in the Krasnodar Krai, was struck by Ukrainian drones.
- Trump endorsed Orbán two days before the Hungarian elections, calling him a “true friend” and a “winner.”
- Putin has declared an Easter ceasefire. It will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12.
- Zelenskyy confirms that Ukrainians have already helped shoot down Shahed drones in the Middle East.
- Serbia could lose up to 1.5 billion euros in EU funds due to its growing ties with Russia.
- Stanford University has been designated an “undesirable organization” in Russia.

Thursday: France is preparing to outlaw Russia’s “shadow fleet.” A proposed amendment to the military planning law would impose penalties on individuals who operate or manage these vessels: up to two years in prison and fines of up to 300,000 euros. These rules would apply to anyone who is actually involved in the operation of the vessels. If such actions endanger human lives, penalties could increase to up to seven years in prison and fines of up to €700,000. Better late than never. And this also happened:

- The investigative project vSquare claims that Orbán’s intelligence services are secretly using Webloc—a mass surveillance tool that tracks hundreds of millions of people using advertising data from smartphones—which would make Hungary the first confirmed EU country to have deployed it.
- The British government announced today that it had successfully thwarted a Russian military sabotage operation near critical undersea infrastructure in British waters. During the operation, a Russian attack submarine entered British waters with the aim of diverting the attention of the British armed forces.
- Decarlos Brown, a man from North Carolina accused of murdering 23-year-old Ukrainian woman Iryna Zarutskaya in a subway car last year, has been found unfit to stand trial. According to doctors, he suffers from a severe mental disorder.
- NATO Secretary General Rutte: “I don’t think the issue of Ukraine’s NATO membership can be resolved in the short term. I don’t think it will happen at the political level in the near future—that is my objective view.”
- The U.S. is likely to continue easing sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil. According to the Semafor news agency, the White House will extend the partial lifting of sanctions, which was introduced in March, in the coming days.
- The Russian federal budget for the first quarter of 2026 ended with a deficit of 4.576 trillion rubles. With revenues of 8.309 trillion rubles, the government spent 1.5 times that amount, or 12.885 trillion rubles.
- The terrorist and former “People’s Governor of Donbas,” Pavel Gubarev, has stated that it is quite possible that the number of Russian soldiers killed in the war against Ukraine exceeds one million.

Wednesday: The scandal over Hungary’s subservience to Russia is gaining momentum. Politico has revealed a secret agreement between Hungary and Russia that was signed in December. The twelve-point plan was coordinated by the usual suspects: Szijjártó and Lavrov. The document covers nearly all areas—energy, trade, education, and culture. It also includes negotiations on the involvement of Russian companies in projects in Hungary and on the resumption of trade that had declined as a result of EU sanctions. Hungary is also prepared to expand Russian language instruction, recognize Russian diplomas, and launch cultural and educational exchanges with Russian universities. In parallel with this, another wiretapped conversation has emerged in which Szijjártó promises to hand over to Lavrov original documents detailing the results of EU negotiations on Ukraine’s potential accession to the Union. - Last year, the crew of a Ukrainian bank transport vehicle had to pull over and print documents at a power outlet in a public restroom because the power inverter in their vehicle had broken down. The bank employees recorded the entire situation on their phone because they found it absurd. Now, a year later, Hungary discovered this private recording on a confiscated phone—even though it had no legal right to hack into the phone—artificially degraded the audio quality, and added the words “corruption money” to the Hungarian subtitles. This phrase does not exist in the original recording. Nevertheless, Hungary released it as evidence to justify the seizure of $82 million in cash and gold that it stole last month from a transport belonging to Ukraine’s Oschadbank.
- Russia’s GRU allegedly launched a massive-scale attack on home Wi-Fi routers around the world to steal passwords, messages, and even military data. Every inadequately secured router became a tool for further surveillance targeting primarily Ukrainians, but also Americans and Europeans. As part of a joint operation, the SBU, the FBI, and the intelligence services of EU countries blocked more than 100 servers and took hundreds of devices linked to the GRU offline. Many of the compromised routers were located in the Czech Republic.
- JD Vance stated in Budapest that “at present, negotiations on Ukraine essentially revolve around a few square kilometers of territory.” According to polls, the U.S. vice president’s visit to Hungary also had an impact on support for Orbán’s party—specifically, a further 3% drop.
- Three acts of sabotage targeting the electrical infrastructure in Bourges, France, disrupted production at KNDS and MBDA, affecting the manufacture of Caesar self-propelled howitzers, 155mm artillery shells, and SCALP guided missiles.

Tuesday: Bloomberg has published a transcript of a wiretapped phone conversation between Orbán and Putin. In it, Orbán offers his help in a similarly subservient manner to that of Foreign Minister Szijjártó during his calls with Lavrov: “Yesterday, our friendship reached such a level that I can help you with absolutely anything. In any matter where I can be of use, I am at your disposal,” Orbán says according to the transcript. He then paraphrases the popular fable of the mouse and the lion, in which the mouse pulls a thorn from the lion’s paw, thereby “the weaker helping the stronger,” after which Orbán declares that he is ready to be that “mouse” for Russia. Putin laughs at this, the two exchange pleasantries, and the Russian dictator praises Orbán for Budapest’s “independent and flexible” stance on the war in Ukraine. This is the traitor to Europe admired by Babiš, Macinka, Okamura, Turek, and others. It makes me want to vomit.

- Trump posted a message on his Truth Social account threatening that tonight “an entire civilization will die and never return.” In response, Iran has shut down all diplomatic channels with the United States and walked away from all negotiations on a potential peace deal. Iranians have begun forming human chains on bridges and around power plants and other key infrastructure. Against this backdrop, U.S. Secretary of Defense Hegseth has dismissed roughly twenty generals from the military.
- U.S. Vice President JD Vance accused “Brussels bureaucrats” of trying to influence the Hungarian elections during a joint press conference with Viktor Orbán in Budapest, where Vance had traveled to influence the Hungarian elections. Vance also accused Ukrainian intelligence of attempting to influence elections not only in Hungary but also in the United States itself.
- A Russian agent was uncovered at a defense plant in Dnipropetrovsk. The Special Investigations Bureau (SVU) announced that one of the engineers at the strategic defense plant was spying for two Russian intelligence agencies simultaneously: the FSB and the GRU. The man was recruited through his son, who is currently serving a prison sentence in Russia for drug offenses.
- In the same week that China opened its market to Ukrainian wheat flour, Beijing introduced regulations that barred 39 of 66 Kazakh feed flour producers from importing their products. The new regulation prohibited the use of Russian grain in imported products.
- This morning, Russian forces struck a civilian minibus with a drone in the center of Nikopol, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing three people and injuring 16 others. After noon, they struck another bus. The second attack also resulted in casualties.
- The Bridge of the Americas over the Panama Canal caught fire following a massive explosion. The cause was reportedly a fuel fire on a tanker that was passing under the bridge at the time, which subsequently triggered a chain reaction.

Monday: Top Serbian military officials have stated that Ukraine was not behind the incident involving explosives near the gas pipeline leading to Hungary, thereby refuting the claims of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who—while not saying so directly—suggested that Kyiv was involved in the incident, but, together with his ministers, had been hinting at it from the start and linking it to Ukrainian airstrikes on other parts of Russia’s gas and oil infrastructure. Serbia also denied that it had cooperated in any way with any foreign actor with the aim of framing Ukraine under a false pretext. The head of Serbian military intelligence stated that the suspect is a member of a group of migrants with military training. The search for him is still ongoing. And this is also happening:

- Rebekah Maciorowski, a well-known medic, reported on Twitter that she suffered a shrapnel wound to her thigh after two Russian 250-kilogram aerial bombs struck the medical station where she was stationed in quick succession. The station was completely destroyed, including the evacuation vehicles, but miraculously, everyone survived.
- Ukrainian drones struck a Kalibr missile carrier in Novorossiysk, the Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich, which was anchored in the local port. Sunday: The Hungarian opposition and some Western intelligence agencies have long warned that Russia is planning a false-flag operation aimed at influencing the Hungarian elections, which are set to take place in just one week, and that operation appears to be underway. One of Europe’s most pro-Russian countries—Serbia—has announced that it discovered planted explosives on a section of the TurkStream gas pipeline on the border between Serbia and Hungary. Aleksandar Vučić has already discussed the situation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who immediately announced that he was convening the Defense Council. Neither of the countries involved has officially accused Ukraine yet, but it is more than certain that the operation is heading in that direction. Ukraine, meanwhile, has officially denied any involvement in the provocation. And this is also happening:

- Not long ago, Orbán and Fico jointly claimed that they had satellite images confirming that the Druzhba pipeline was undamaged and that the Ukrainians were lying about its condition. However, Hungarian Army Captain Szilveszter Pálinkás now claims that the images Orbán waved around at the press conference did not come from the Hungarian or Slovak armies (logically, since neither has its own satellites), nor even from NATO. The images were reportedly provided to Orbán by the Russians, and according to Pálinkás, they were of the BDA (Battle Damage Assessment) type—military satellite images intended to determine the effectiveness of military strikes and the extent of damage caused—which would, on the contrary, suggest that the Russians did indeed strike the pipeline. Furthermore, the images could have been altered in any way afterward.
- A Volgo-Balt-class cargo ship carrying wheat sank in the Sea of Azov. According to Vladimir Salda, head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region, there were 12 people on board: nine members of the Russian crew made it ashore, one—the first officer—died, and two are still missing. Russian state sources claim that the ship was struck by a naval drone about 300 miles north of occupied Kerch.
- Residents of Siberia are now posting videos “thanking” the authorities for the forced culling of livestock. They describe it as the right move and a way to protect farms from disease. However, locals on social media claim that the people in the videos are not farmers at all, but municipal employees, or in one case, a security guard—in short, people who have never raised livestock.
- The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated Major General Volodymyr Lyapkin (call sign “Batyj”), the former head of an SBU department, in Sevastopol. After the Maidan, he fled to Russia, joined the Russian armed forces, and served in the “Bars-33” volunteer unit. He was killed on March 17, 2026.
- Russia reminded Armenia that it receives cheap gas from Russia. Armenia reminded Russia of what would happen if that were to change. Armenian Parliament Speaker Simonyan stated that a gas price hike would lead to Armenia’s withdrawal from both the Russian military alliance and the Russian economic union.
- Ukrainian specialists are training U.S. law enforcement agencies in the use of drones to combat drug cartels. Joint exercises were held in Texas with the participation of the DEA and international partners.

Saturday: This is yet another story of heroism, of which Ukraine has thousands: Sergeant Oleksandr Kusharev—call sign “Zelenyj”—was undoubtedly a hero. The Russians offered a bounty of around $150,000 for him after his unit killed an intelligence colonel from the Russian Pacific Fleet on one of the islands in the Dnieper River. Russian TV channels mourned this loss for several weeks at the time. When Zelenyj learned of the bounty, he waited until his unit had withdrawn to safety after another successful mission, turned on his radio—knowing the enemy was listening—and sent a message to the Russians: “Orcs, Zelenyj sends his regards.” Twenty minutes later, two motorboats carrying Russian airborne troops arrived at his position. Zeleny’s men greeted them with heavy fire and killed most of the Russian soldiers. On April 28, 2024, Zeleny’s unit liberated Nestrуha in the Dnieper Delta. During the operation, he personally sank at least two Russian assault boats using a Browning heavy machine gun. In 2024, he was wounded twice—once so severely that shrapnel nearly severed his leg. But he returned to duty every time. On April 27, 2025, he filmed a video on TikTok somewhere near the front lines, in which he declared: “When I die, they probably won’t write that an entire era has ended.” A few weeks later, death did indeed catch up with him. He died on June 9, 2025, near Vuhledar. He was 36 years old. Glory to the heroes. And now this is happening:

- Ukrainian drones carried out a large-scale attack on Russian military infrastructure during the night of April 3–4. Targets included an S-400 radar system in Feodosia, Crimea; a Tor air defense system near Zakhatkivka in the Donetsk region; a ZU-23-2 air defense system near Lozivske in the Luhansk region; a fuel tanker near the town of Novosimeikine in the Luhansk region; logistics centers in Novopoltavka (Zaporizhzhia) and Chervone Pole (Donetsk), bases in Shulhynka and Bilovodsk in the Luhansk region, and other command posts and bases of Russian forces in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions. Two Shahed drone bases and launch sites near the Russian village of Navlyj (Bryansk Oblast) and at the airport in Khalin (Kursk Oblast) were also struck.
- On the night of April 3–4, approximately 10 Ukrainian drones struck Tolyatti—more than 900 km from the front lines—causing a fire at the Tolyattikaučuk petrochemical plant. The plant produces synthetic rubber for tires and rubber products. According to an analysis of available images, 2,300 cubic meters of liquefied product storage tanks and production units for isobutane-isobutylene—which form the core of butyl rubber production—were destroyed by the fire.
- RFI reports that GRU General Andrei Averjanov was killed in an SBU drone strike on a tanker belonging to the Russian shadow fleet in the Mediterranean Sea. According to RFI, Ukraine struck two tankers, including the Qendil, which had 12 Russian intelligence officers on board posing as sailors. Two other officers were killed and seven were wounded.
- Russian forces launched a drone attack this morning on a market in the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to preliminary reports, five people were killed—three women and two men. Another 19 people were injured, including a 14-year-old girl. The girl is currently in the hospital. Doctors describe her condition as critical.
- Drones operated by Ukraine’s SBU struck a metallurgical plant in Alchevsk. Strikes with FP-2 missiles damaged blast furnaces, workshops, gas pipelines, and power lines. Operations at the plant were halted as a result of the airstrike. The plant supplies raw materials to Uralvagonzavod for the production of T-90M tanks and Msta-S howitzers.
- Ukrainian forces are fighting on the left bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed for the first time that fighting is taking place near the village of Hola Prystan.
- Last month, Russian forces dropped 7,987 glide bombs—more than 1,500 more than the previous record set in February.
- Zelenskyy has arrived in Istanbul, where he will meet with Erdoğan.
- Ukraine currently produces up to 10 million drones a year.

Friday: According to RFI, Ukraine has established bases in Libya from which it is launching attacks on Russian military vessels and ships belonging to the shadow fleet. The Ukrainian contingent, numbering more than 200 officers, is reportedly deployed at three locations, including the airbase in Misrata and the Mellita area. Ukraine has already used these bases to attack Russian ships in the Mediterranean Sea twice: the gas tanker Arctic Metagaz and the tanker Qendil. An agreement on the presence of Ukrainian military personnel in Libya was signed in October 2025. Russia has already accused Dbeibah’s government of supporting Ukrainian forces with the involvement of British intelligence services. And this is also happening:

- Russian propagandist Romanov wrote at length about the accuracy of Iskander missiles: “The Iskander is essentially no longer a precision weapon. The ‘circle of error’ can be as large as one kilometer. There are two possible solutions: strengthen technical quality control of components, including (especially!) foreign parts, or increase the number of missiles fired simultaneously at a single target, up to three. That way, at least one might hit the mark.”
- Sweden has detained a tanker subject to sanctions that is suspected of causing an oil spill spanning a 12-kilometer stretch of the Baltic Sea. The tanker Flora 1 set sail from Ust-Luga, a major Russian oil export terminal, with the Brazilian city of Santos as its declared destination. The vessel also appears on Ukraine’s sanctions list, and its “nationality” is currently unclear.
- One Russian military blogger claims that Ukraine is exerting strong pressure on the southern front and using drones to strike deep into Russian territory, while Russia has still not managed to adapt to this situation. Essentially, he argues that Moscow should stop seeking territorial gains before the entire war turns into a disaster.
- Former U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg proposes the creation of a new defense alliance, which could include Ukraine, to replace NATO, whose members he has called “cowards” due to their “inability to resolve the conflict in Iran.”
- On the night of April 2–3, Ukrainian forces, in coordination with military intelligence, struck several Russian military targets at the Kirovskoye airfield in occupied Crimea, destroying an An-72 aircraft and an Orion drone base.
- Denis Kapustin claims that former mercenaries from the Wagner Group, who fought in Africa on behalf of Russia, have joined the Russian Volunteer Corps, which is fighting on Ukraine’s side.
- During a massive nighttime airstrike, 542 Russian drones and 37 missiles/rockets were detected in Ukrainian airspace. At least 3 people were killed and more than 25 were injured.
- According to Zelenskyy, 33,988 Russian soldiers were killed or seriously wounded in March in drone attacks alone, and another 1,363 Russians were killed in artillery and other attacks.

Thursday: A recent mechanized assault by Ukraine’s 425th Assault Regiment “Skelia” near Pokrovsk has sparked a wave of criticism online from prominent Ukrainian figures. They point in particular to the unnecessary loss of life. Yesterday, April 1, Russian drone videos showing destroyed Ukrainian equipment appeared on Telegram. The videos, published by the Russian elite drone unit Rubicon, showed their drones destroying a Ukrainian M1 Abrams tank, a BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle, and an M1117 armored vehicle, as well as striking several individual soldiers. Later that day, additional footage of the destroyed vehicles appeared online, and geolocation confirmed that the attack took place on the E-50 highway west of Pokrovsk, near the village of Hryshyne, which is currently the site of heavy fighting. Prominent representatives of Ukrainian forces called this a complete waste of equipment and manpower, and some even described such orders as a crime. And this is also happening:

- Since 2014, the occupying authorities have flooded dozens of coal mines in eastern Ukraine simply by turning off the pumps, without dismantling the equipment or taking any safety precautions. The contamination then spread to local waterways. Now the occupying administration has announced further plans: to divert drainage water from the mines to the taps in residential buildings. This water contains lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, and toxic residues from Soviet industrial accidents.
- Since the start of the day, Russian forces have attacked Kharkiv a total of 11 times. All strikes hit the Kyivskyi district. Most of the drones that attacked the city were powered by rocket engines. This is the first time the Russians have deployed this type of drone against Kharkiv. Two people were injured as a result of the attacks: a 61-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman suffered injuries caused by the shock wave.
- Sweden and Denmark are supplying Ukraine with components for the Tridon Mk2 system, a 40mm anti-aircraft gun mounted on a truck. Their primary motivation is to gain valuable experience and data for the system’s further development.
- The Council of the Republic of Belarus has approved a bill introducing new criminal offenses, including criminal liability for the “promotion” of homosexuality, gender reassignment, pedophilia, and childlessness.

Wednesday: People often ask me if I have any idea how Russians themselves view the war or Putin. I wouldn’t dare claim to know what’s going on in their heads, but I can share one recent development that offers some insight: Since early March, Russian authorities have been carrying out mass culls of livestock in Siberia—allegedly due to some unspecified rare disease. In many cases, people aren’t even presented with documents confirming the diagnosis, and compensation is minimal. Would you expect protests against the government? But that wouldn’t be allowed to happen in Russia. There, ever since the days of Tsarist Russia, there has been a special phenomenon deeply rooted in the mindset of ordinary people, which has come to be known as “Good Tsar, Bad Boyar.” Residents of villages in the Novosibirsk region therefore believe that the killing of their livestock is actually a provocation by certain individuals behind the scenes aimed against Putin. “Our only hope is that Vladimir Vladimirovich doesn’t know about this,” says a man in a video where angry farmers discuss the situation. Videos in which people from border regions and occupied cities beg Putin to restore their collapsing basic services are similarly motivated. Yet it is precisely Putin and his senseless war who are to blame for their misfortune. But you’ll never explain that to ordinary Russians in the countryside. Here, however, are more news stories:

- According to Maritime News, in October 2025, Russia’s shadow fleet consisted of 3,240 vessels transporting 337 million barrels of oil per month. To date, the EU has imposed sanctions on roughly 600 vessels, the United Kingdom on 500, while the U.S. has sanctioned only 216, as the current U.S. administration has not added a single tanker to the list. Conversely, the United States lifted sanctions against three Russian vessels yesterday.
- Phone calls proving that Szijjártó is Lavrov’s lackey are further eroding Orbán’s already low popularity. The Hungarian prime minister’s party is rapidly losing support ahead of the elections scheduled for April 12, while the opposition TISZA party, led by Péter Magyar, is widening its lead. Opinion polls give it support of around 50–56%, while Fidesz stands at 37–39%.
- During recent naval exercises off the coast of Portugal, the Ukrainian “red team” sank a NATO frigate using drones in a simulated naval battle, while the frigate’s crew didn’t even notice the attack. “So, are you going to attack us or not?” the “blue team” wrote in the group chat, long after the ship had already been “destroyed.”
- Trump declared that NATO is a paper tiger and that both he and Putin know it. At the same time, he hinted that he had already decided to withdraw the United States from the alliance because NATO did not support his attack on Iran. Rubio confirmed this intention and stated that the U.S. would reconsider its continued participation in NATO once the war with Iran is over.
- As is customary, the Kremlin rejected the Easter ceasefire. As a result, at least 3 civilians were killed and 33 were wounded in Russian attacks on Ukraine over the past day. Overnight, Russia launched 339 drones at Ukraine, including approximately 200 Shahed-type drones.
- Four people died in the city of Cherkasy while attempting to examine a Russian drone that had crashed in the city shortly before but had not exploded. Upon contact with the drone, the warhead detonated, killing all four on the spot.
- Rosneft’s net profit fell by 73% last year to 293 billion rubles ($3.6 billion) due to high taxes and interest rates, as well as “geopolitical and one-off factors.”
- All 29 people on board were killed in the crash of a Russian An-26 aircraft in occupied Crimea. According to the governor of Murmansk, officials from the Russian Northern Fleet were reportedly on board the aircraft.
- Timur Shagivaleev, director of the special economic zone in Yalabuz (where Geran/Shaheed kamikaze drones are manufactured), named his daughter after the kamikaze drone: “Geraniya.”
- Iran has resumed its attacks on Amazon data centers in the Middle East. The attack targeted the headquarters of Batelco in Bahrain—the country’s largest telecommunications operator.
- Russia is requiring companies to nominate employees for military service, with each company required to nominate between two and five people, depending on its size.
- The European Union will transfer 1.4 billion euros to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen assets belonging to the Russian central bank.
- Moscow's oil revenues fell by more than $1 billion in just one week due to Ukrainian airstrikes.
- Russian sources report the loss of another Su-34 fighter-bomber, along with its pilot.
- Ireland has announced €40.3 million in humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
- Russia has declared that Ukraine has two months to withdraw from the Donbas.
- As of today, the Telegram network is banned in Russia.

Tuesday: A recording of a telephone conversation between Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó and his Russian counterpart Lavrov has been made public. The conversation reveals, for example, that Hungary helped Russia lift sanctions on certain individuals in Putin’s inner circle, in cooperation with Slovakia (e.g., the sister of Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, who later did indeed disappear from the sanctions lists). The entire call comes across more like a conversation between a superior and a subordinate than a dialogue between two government officials of equal standing. And this is also happening:

- During an operation to liberate a Ukrainian frontline village, two Ukrainian soldiers were captured. Their unit immediately coordinated with neighboring units and deployed drones, which first separated the captives from their captors without endangering the two Ukrainians. After successfully isolating the two groups from each other, a precision strike was launched against the Russians. As a result, both Ukrainian soldiers returned home.
- Alexander Lukashenko’s regime has revoked the passports of former political prisoners who were exiled to Europe after their release. In practice, this means complete isolation: those affected cannot open bank accounts, sign contracts, cross borders, or use services that require identification.
- Ukrainian drones have once again attacked the oil terminal in the port of Ust-Luga. This marks the fifth attack in the past 10 days. The attack once again targeted facilities related to the export of Russian crude oil. Sources report that terminals operated by Transneft were hit.
- Georgia’s only oil refinery is phasing out Russian oil to gain access to the EU market. Black Sea Petroleum plans to completely replace Russian oil with alternative supplies—initially from Turkmenistan, then from Kazakhstan and other sources.
- A Ukrainian drone strike caused a massive explosion at the Russian Taneko oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, 1,130 km from the front line. According to local authorities, one person was killed and dozens were injured in the attack.
- Spanish authorities have seized five villas in Mallorca belonging to Nikolai Kolesov, a senior executive at Rostec and CEO of Russian Helicopters, and his family.
- Finland commented on the crash of a Ukrainian drone on Finnish territory: “Ukraine has the right to defend itself. We do not require Ukraine to inform us of the targets in Russia it intends to strike.”
- Iran has appealed to the UN to accuse Ukraine of aggression after Kyiv sent hundreds of experts to the Gulf states to help shoot down Iranian drones there.
- As of March 30, Ukraine had identified 27,407 foreign nationals fighting on Russia’s side in Ukraine, a significant increase from approximately 18,000 in November.
- Poland has rejected a U.S. request to deploy a Patriot missile battery to the Middle East. According to Poland, the battery will remain in place to protect NATO’s eastern flank.
- A foreign national voluntarily turned himself in to Czech police and confessed to the attack on the "Russian House" in Prague. The suspect's nationality has not been specified.
- Another Russian spy ring was uncovered right in Kyiv by the Ukrainian SBU even before the planned attacks on soldiers and volunteers.
- Russian authorities claim that Ukraine hacked the MAX network and is now using it to direct drone attacks against Russian ports in the Baltic Sea.
- Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings is now involved in investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
- Debris from an Iranian cluster missile landed about 30 meters from the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel.

Monday: According to Business Insider, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been under pressure in recent days from unnamed allies to scale back strikes on Russian oil and gas infrastructure. Zelenskyy immediately confirmed this, stating: “Following the outbreak of the global energy crisis, we have received signals from some partners asking us to limit our measures targeting the Russian oil and energy sector. I emphasize once again: if Russia is prepared not to attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure, we will not retaliate against theirs. We are open to discussing any kind of ceasefire—a complete ceasefire, an energy ceasefire, a ceasefire regarding food security. We have already proposed all of this and remain open to it. If the Russians are ready, let them propose any timeframe—we are ready to resolve this issue.” Frankly, the fact that even after four years of war, the West is still forcing Ukraine to enable Russia, through various means, to finance the war against itself is a terrible disgrace for us, one we will have to come to terms with in the future. And this is also happening:

- A new set of restrictions targeting VPNs is being prepared in Russia. Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev has ordered telecommunications operators to introduce charges for VPN traffic similar to roaming fees: if you exceed 15 GB of international data transfer per month, you will be charged. The measure is set to take effect by May 1. At the same time, operators have been ordered to block Apple ID top-ups via mobile accounts, which would make it more difficult to purchase VPN services. The deadline for implementation is April 1. Major platforms such as VK, Ozon, Avito, Wildberries, and Yandex may also be required to deny access to users connecting via VPN. Let us recall that this is the country from which the local “Society for the Defense of Freedom of Speech” draws inspiration for its legislative proposals.
- A Ukrainian man suspected of spying for Russia has been detained in Germany. The man was arrested on March 27, 2026, in the city of Hagen. According to the investigation, he had been gathering information about a Ukrainian soldier living in Germany since November 2025. His surveillance may have been in preparation for further actions targeting the soldier in question.
- Attempts by Russians to organize protests against internet restrictions have completely failed. In Moscow, several dozen people tried to gather at Bolotnaya Square, but security forces blocked their entry and quickly dispersed the crowd. In St. Petersburg and other cities, the sites of planned protests were cordoned off in advance.
- Pro-Russian activist Takeyuki Tanaka organized an anti-Ukraine event at the Japanese parliament, attended by representatives of the Russian Embassy and featuring flags of the DPR and LPR. A representative of the Russian Embassy, Kuznetsov, spoke at the event and presented the “official version of the conflict.”
- A wave of false bomb threats has hit Ukraine. Since 11:00 a.m. today, anonymous emails containing threats have been sent to government agencies, schools, banks, businesses, and other institutions. So far, the police have recorded over 1,200 such messages. What does this remind me of…?
- Ukraine and Bulgaria have signed a ten-year security agreement that includes ongoing military support, joint weapons production (including drones), and mine clearance in the Black Sea. Bulgaria is also joining the PURL initiative.
- A fire broke out in Sterlitamak at a plant owned by Bashkir Soda, one of Russia’s leading producers of soda ash and chemical reagents, which are widely used in industry and the defense sector.
- The BIS announced that the Czech Republic has imposed sanctions on Konstantin Valerievich Rogache, a Russian national living in the Czech Republic, who arranged insurance and provided consulting services for the so-called Russian shadow fleet.
- Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the attack on the arms factory in Pardubice. One of the suspected perpetrators attempted to flee the country and was apprehended at Ruzyně Airport.
- The EU has approved a $1.7 billion security program aimed at supporting production, expanding cooperation with Ukraine, and improving joint public procurement.
- As of February 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 2,881 Russian attacks on hospitals, clinics, ambulances, and medical personnel in Ukraine.
- A French court sentenced Chen Zhangjie, captain of the Boracay—a ship belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet”—to one year in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros.
- The Russian tanker "Anatoly Kolodkin" has arrived in Cuba. The vessel delivered approximately 100,000 tons of oil, which Russia describes as "humanitarian aid."
- A Russian Ural military truck drove into a crowd of people at a bus station in occupied Donetsk. According to reports, two people were injured.
- Russian Lieutenant Colonel Pershin, known for his past atrocities against civilians in Chechnya, met his just end in Ukraine.
- Oligarch Deripaska is proposing a 12-hour workday for Russians, including Saturdays.

Monday: The SBU uncovered and detained a 16-year-old teenager who was preparing a terrorist attack in the center of Kharkiv on behalf of Russia. Following instructions, the young man assembled a homemade explosive device, which was to be placed in an apartment in one of the apartment buildings. The Russians then planned to make a fake call to the emergency number 102 to lure a patrol to the scene and blow up the police officers. Russia is a terrorist state that differs from ISIS only in its climate. And then this happened:

The SBU, in cooperation with the Ukrainian army, used drones to attack Russian ships and port infrastructure in Novorossiysk in southern Russia. Several warships were damaged. The 30N6E2 radar of the S-300PMU-2 Favorit system, the Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft missile and artillery system, and six of the seven loading points at the Sheskharis oil terminal were also reportedly destroyed.
Current developments in global politics fully reveal the utter futility of the BRICS grouping. Iran, as a member state, has repeatedly bombed the territories of two other members in recent days: Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, while the founding five states stand idly by.
Spain has banned Trump from using its military bases to attack Iran, effectively expelling US Air Force tankers stationed there. Britain, on the other hand, will allow the use of its bases, apparently after Iran repeatedly attempted to strike British bases, including the one in Cyprus.
The survey revealed that 70% of Ukrainians are skeptical that negotiations between the US, Ukraine, and Russia will bring lasting peace. Only 25% of respondents said they were more likely to believe in the potential success of the negotiations, while 5% remained undecided.

Monday: The Suspilne agency reports that at 11:47 Kyiv time, an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck the occupied Crimea. Residents of the town of Shcholkine say that the tremors were so strong that furniture and chandeliers shook. The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center confirmed that the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km near Kerch. The Russian occupation authorities have not yet commented on the possible consequences. However, the bridge appears to have escaped damage. And this is also happening:

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia has deliberately refrained from attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure deep in the rear over the past 24 hours. Nevertheless, attacks on energy facilities in frontline areas and border towns have taken place. However, the "ceasefire" has probably ceased to apply again in the meantime. The Russian Air Force has also moved several Tu-95MS ALCM strategic bombers from the Ukrainka airbase in the far east of the country to the Olenya and Engels airbases in the west. Extensive air raids on Ukraine are expected soon.
Ukraine will create a white list of authorized Starlink terminals, so that only verified devices will be able to operate on its territory. Registration is possible at administrative service centers, through the Diia portal for businesses, and through the DELTA system for military users.
Germany arrested five men this morning for allegedly violating sanctions against Russia. Authorities claim that since 2022, thousands of shipments, including components for Russian weapons, have been secretly transported through fictitious companies. Sunday: Newly released documents from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation suggest that the entire network of contacts was created in collaboration with Russian foreign intelligence to produce compromising material on top officials of Western countries and leading global companies. Putin's name appears approximately a thousand times in the emails, and according to the emails, Epstein coordinated a number of activities directly with the Russians. One of the FBI's collaborators even referred to Epstein as "Putin's treasurer." The Russians almost certainly supplied Epstein with underage "models" and "masseuses," provided him with finances, and bribed his "clients." According to the files, the Russians also financed Brexit, nationalist parties across Europe, and other disruptive activities, which American tech giants then rejoiced in along with them. As for Trump, his name appears even more frequently in the files than Epstein's. In addition to the abuse of minors, the files also suggest the torture of young sex slaves and even cannibalism. And this is also happening:

It appears that Ukrainians have managed to force SpaceX to cut off most Russian units from internet access via Starlink terminals.
